The thing about Slash model guitars that always makes me smile is that Appetite For Destruction was not recorded with a Gibson Les Paul but a replica. (As all of us already know the story). Slash is a great player but I still think that fact is funny.

A Keith Richards Telecaster would be pretty cool.

Frusciante’s said no a number of times. Every time they asked him for a sig series, he said he only plays old guitars, so selling a sig to “sound like him” felt insincere in a way.

I like signature guitars when they’re actually their design- EVH, Bo Diddley, Jem, Red Special- but I really don’t see the point of a Paul or a Strat painted a certain colour with a signature on the headstock and an extra zero on the price.

If you think about it, every Les Paul ever made is a Signature guitar. It's like when Gretsch approached Horton Heat to make his signature guitar. His response was "my guitar is a Chet Atkins Country Gentleman. It's already a signature." Props to the marketing man who successfully argued against that logic.

Why can I not get a Nigel Tufnel Signature Series Flying V? It would also be cool if it came with a violin pick. I would seriously fork over tens of dollars to make that happen.

I still wish Gibson would do another Angus Young SG. Angus is the most iconic and known SG guitar player and Gibson only made one signature and Tony Iommi has had more than one signature SG. Angus deserves more SG’s

Personally I don't get "signature guitars"..I don't want someone else's idea of what a guitar is supposed to be, I want my own guitar. And now signature guitars are passed out to anybody, like youtubers for example, like Darrel Braun etc, who have done zero contribution to the music industry but they help sell guitars on their channel...it is all about money and not music. It makes me sick!,,sorry, I had to get that out of my system!

THE BOSS has the MOST iconic guitar of all time!!! Why his hasn’t become a signature model is freaking beyond me. He is America. Cmon, Fender! I would buy that in a second and I hate signature models.

The Johnny Marr Jaguar is cool because it’s a different type of Jaguar- he worked with them to design the wiring so it does things different from a standard jag, which makes it unique and “his” guitar (not just something with his name on it)

I don't have a signature guitar, but I do have a Geddy Lee signature Fender Jazz Bass, and I freaking love it!

My favorite example of a signature gone wild is the Music Man Albert Lee model. They made a version of it with Humbuckers (which I own and love) and Al had to have been scratching his head and say "Eh... OK". But then they took it a step further and made it into a bass and called it the "Big Al". I laugh every time I see one because it is such a wonderful departure from what the original purpose of that model was originally.

The funniest signature model is the new Jimi Hendrix SG Custom. He played it like once on TV, said he didn't like it, and Gibson is like "YES, BUILD IT! CHARGE TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS!"

What about situations like the Greg Koch signature models from Reverend? He worked with them on the design, the specs and the pickups. The Gristle 90 sells out before it can even get into stock. And, Greg plays them.

Tbh i don’t watch a lot of guitar videos that don’t involve actual playing, but I make an exception for you two. Wonderful insight, charisma, and positivity and you both always make a lot of cool references and remain respectful. Kudos!♥️

many of the signature artists don't even play their "signature" guitar on a regular basis

We barely got an overpriced Mike McCreedy strat, that should be a $1800 signature strat for all us 90’s guys
