I had the same issue and didn’t think it was this problem. Turns out you were spot on and now I don’t have to get a new mower. Thank you very much for making this video. Craftsman LT2000 mower.

Have had A reverse problem, first just slow and now not even a hint of movement. I will check out what you did in the video, it doesn't seem that the lever is going all the way back. Thanks for sharing, this might solve my problem as the reverse goes, I still have a problem with forward, I changed the drive belt a couple of years ago so maybe it needs it again?

Is your transmission hydrostatic? If so have you checked the fluid level? Thanks for the comment I appreciate it
@robertmobley76785 жыл бұрын
@@HomeGaragechannel No it is an old non serviceable tran, I don't think it's the tran I'm thinking drive belt. I have watched other videos with similar problems and they range from a axle key pin to built up dirt in linkage, I will run thru all these options first.

I have a ariens 42 inch deck with a 6 speed transmission.. it seems when I put it in neutral it's actually in 1st gear and reverse is neutral now.... Was working fine last week when I mowed any ideas? Thanks

Why would a John Deere 265 hydrostatic have little to no reverse then a tractor repair shop supposedly changed the fluid and now reverse works great but no forward?
@HomeGaragechannel2 жыл бұрын
I would only be guessing. Is this your rider? If so, they won't warranty their work?

@@HomeGaragechannel my father’s JD but he passed away and now my brother uses it to mow for my mom but then the reverse started barely working so he brought it to a local dealer (not a JD dealer though) and they said it needs new JD hygard. They changed the fluid, charged him 180 for that and a tune up and my idiot brother took it home even though forward doesn’t work but now reverse does. And wouldn’t you know it but that company closed all of a sudden now too... regardless, if reverse was bad before the fluid change and now it’s forward that’s bad but reverse is good wouldn’t that mean there’s air or something else in the hydro transmission ? I guess your experience is limited? Thanks
@HomeGaragechannel2 жыл бұрын
yes you are correct, there's a reason I don't touch hydrostatic transmissions, and its because they are not easy to deal with.

Do u no what would cause riding mower to pop out of forward or reverse, if i hold the shifter its doesnt do it.
@HomeGaragechannel6 жыл бұрын
Thank you scott redmon. I'm sorry to say I'm not sure why it would do that other than it being an internal transmission issue.

Note ! Taking off the rear wheel may not be that easy too slide off. And another note ! Some mowers have two pins on each side instead one one pin. PIN ? A long square piece that fits in the slot on the wheel,and on the axel. Forget too put pin back in ? You ain't going anywhere.
