I remember watching this at the time, because I was glued to every one of your videos then! Your whit and timing are priceless! You're such a great storyteller, and it would lovely to know more of these stories; your book might be a little too long with all of that. Maybe a sequel, or short stories? You're so good at video storytelling! I always leave your vlogs or tour videos wanting more (though one of your best attributes is timing - not too long or too short). I've ended up watching quite a few van-life videos - a good video is like good comedy - timing is everything. Your frame dwell, music, and story are so good!

I have your same navy blue hose. Love it! I screw the ends together before putting it back in my basement just in case a bug gets in there and crawls up in there. Glad you did ok. I did 2 Cat 5 hurricanes, 13 days apart in ‘17 while living on the tiny island of St. Croix. Folks back home asked, why didn’t you leave. Seriously? Even if a local had a ticket, they can’t get off island due to the need to get the tourists off island. No electricity at our home from September until Christmas Day. Even with a generator you had to ration fuel because you never knew when a fuel supply would be getting to the island.

Such a trooper. I am relieved that you are safe. I've never been in a tropical storm nor a hurricane but I was born and raised in a wind battered metropolis. Always, rigs were toppling over on the interstate. My pop's was a truck driver and taught me to figure the wind direction and park myself into the wind since the rigs are designed to withstand such pressure at that angle. It works phenomenally but in such extremes it might still bounce around a bit. Anyway, just my silly two cents. Stay safe out there woman and heal up.

I am sitting in my 39 foot 5th wheel watching you at 5 AM in the morning, with a 1 on the way this evening. Its a strong tropical storm and should hit the east coast of Florida as a 1. Thank you for posting this as reality bites and you need to survive. I can pull my slides in and leave if it threatens to get really bad. The one thing my trailer has, in it's favor, is that it is blocked and anchored as a permanent fixture and is not going anywhere, unless it gets hit with something really big, in the form of wind or a another RV. Being alone in an RV through one of these is not for the faint of heart.....Thank you Casey........Sebastian Fl, 11-9-22

When I was still working for a newspaper we used to amuse ourselves, when things were slow in the news room, by doing imitations of a TV reporter voice. Extra points were given for the gravitas and drama of the voice in direct inverse proportion to the subject being described, i.e dog chasing its tail, kitten stuck in a.tree, or, my sister in-laws' baby's first word...'it wasn't mama or dada, the startling truth and more tonight on news 11.'

I heard from the news that this year is going to be one of the worst years for hurricanes that we've had in many many years. Therefore, if you stay in the war wagon in a hurricane is on the way come to Greenville South Carolina. I say again that is South Carolina. It is a very easy drive from Wilmington. You shouldn't have a problem finding a place to park the war wagon but if you don't want to park it we have so many Walmarts around here you can't swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting one. They will let you stay in the parking lot. Glad you're safe because you have so much to give and I enjoy listening to you my strong red-haired woman.

We, (wife and I) road out Hurricane Rita in Texas, I was out in and had to walk on during the infamous Columbus day storm (typhoon) in Olympia, Wa in 1961 or 62 can't remember the actual year. And earthquakes, lots of them. Not bragging or anything but know the terror that you were in. We went through 100 gal. of diesel running our generator in the motorhome during Rita. We actually had water coming in through side window frames. In reality Casey, no amount of explaining in detail will get through to people who have never been through a hurricane or earthquake. I do advice you get a emergency radio, the crank up kind that requires no power, not even solar. And has a weather band where you can get NOAA 24/7 weather updates for the area. Oh, did I mention the tornado issues we had in wacky Waco, Texas? I'm surprised you are already selling the war wagon. Take care.

I used to live in Wilmington years ago, so I know your pain. 5 hurricanes in 3 years! Shuffling off to Raleigh is not necessarily better as the hurricanes follow the Cape Fear river straight to Raleigh. That, and all the other reasons you mentioned. Wilmington gets so many hurricanes, 24 hours after the landfall, all is back to 'normal' and its all about clean-up. Of course, Carolina Beach will be shoveling displaced sand for the next few weeks...
