I am learning so much about Colorado from these trips Mike takes. Those igloo shaped huts at Restone were "coking huts" where the miners fired the coal from the mines into coal for industrial and home use, their kilns got up to 2400 degrees! Wow!

Just got home from a long day to hop in the truck and go for another peaceful drive through our beloved mountains. Most annoying thing at night is the whine of a mosquito somewhere in the room and you just know that one is going to bite you in the ear. Thanks Mike only way to relax. Be safe and keep em coming.

cruising along that river.... very cool... I can see a truck-mounted spear gun with bio-laser targeting you can launch at fish in that river as you drive along, the GPS tracked spears float the fish to the surface, where your truck-based fishing drone recovers them & flies them back to the roof-mounted cooler on your rolling truck :)

"Repel" Lemon Eucalyptus repellent. Pump spray. Sporting goods stores, Walmart, etc. I've used it for the past 2 years fishing in Ontario, and nothing works better, even DEET. The mosquitos wouldn't even light on my skin. For an area repellent used a Thermacell unit in our cabin. Mosquitos never came near us. For fishing way from your tractor, I'd turn on a Thermacell, and hang the unit on the door. I used to live in Littleton, CO, near Deer Creek Canyon Road. We'd fish in Shadow Mountain Reservoir and camp just across the bridge in Hot Sulphur Springs, using hellgrammites as bait from the Colorado River. Thoroughly enjoy your video travels. In the late '60s I worked for a scrap yard, used to drive a 1600 International Loadstar gasser with 5sp main and 3sp brownie. No a/c, trailer dog-tracked 1' curbside, no brakes on trailer. Hauled scrap steel from Santa Maria California to an LA yard, then sucker rod or oilfield pipe to Bakersfield followed by whatever the boss could find back home. It's great to be back on the road with you. Thanks!

True story. God bless enjoy all your trucking rides keeps us going.the schmidts

You mentioned the rich areas hating to see and hear trucks but want what you bring them! I supervised maintenance at WDW for 27 years and we always knew they didn't want to see us, hear us or smell us but wanted their paint pristine, ac temperatures perfect, all lights at max, no roof leaks ever, commodes flushing and drinking fountain water at the perfect temperature! Sounds like what you truckers go through!

What was the name of that bug spray that worked? Have you tried the OFF! clip-on? You can clip it on and just wear it and turn it on when you need it. The refills last 12hours of run time and that is enough time to do several things. I keep one in my car - I live in a swamp - and put it on when I get out so I can get in the house without getting bit. It clears about a 10-' 10' area around you which works fine for working in the garden or mowing. I love this drive - thanks for sharing it.

If you're taking photos or videos, and you want to get rid or cut down on reflections, use a polarizing filter. They can make your videos and photos look like they have never been before. Cut glare from water, clouds in the sky, hot air balloons and a zillion other things. You can adjust how much glare you want to get rid of. I've been using them for 50 years.
