Gremlins Really Slowed us Down - BUT We Did Some Rad Pit Side Repairs | Speed Week 2024 - Day 4

Today was a lot to say the least. We started off REALLY hopeful that we would make our qualifying record run in the morning, straight to impound for 4 hours and back it up in the afternoon. Butttt, that didn't quite happen 😅
We found a lot things that were needing to be fixed once we dove into trying to find the lack of power. Thanks to our awesome friends Roger Beckman and Tim Cox we were able to repair what we needed and get the car in the best shape to make a new attempt tomorrow!

Loving the videos and hope you get the record. One thing though, and it’s a bit late I know, but the next time you need to trim a belt and you have a vice, clamp the blade in the vice and pull the belt not the blade. Gives you free hands to control the width of cut and also minimises the risk of injury as the blade is static.

I’m definitely going to order one of those 55 flags, that was sweet. Watching the interaction between all of the teams, like Roger and friends helping y’all out is what it’s all about. I love seeing it on the Salt as well as in Drag n Drive. I’m definitely pulling for you Alex to get your Red Hat and to set a record. Mike I feel your pain i lost my dad last November 3rd and my mom a month ago all to cancer and health reasons I am the opposite ok you in the fact me dad and I run a excavator and I have very small use on a doxer but I can mechanicly work on anything. I watch most all your videos keep your head held high knowing both our parents are looking at us and saying great job son and keep up the good work !!! 😢

The resonance vibrations from the salt and engine create the perfect storm. Some people glue connections and wire things together to overcome the insanity. This is the same issue on sand and gravel. Can you create a lever to adjuster the timing from the driver's seat? This would be a means to rotate the distributor. If you haven't learned, linen and linen cotton blend clothing will keep you cool!

I think it's interesting how simple words' meanings change as the years go by. Like "classic". Back in the early 80s, "classic", as in classic car show, meant cars from the pre-war era. Now it includes a 80s Camaro. So interesting. I'm a Mopar person and started following you when you built, and raced, the Mopar. Sad in a way that the car got mothballed though. I do enjoy watching what you have done so I will stick around a bit longer. Or until I die.

Alex, for those hot minutes of waiting in the car all suited up, get a rechargeable and portable electric fan to use in the car before your pass. Even with just your visor open it is a lifesaver to have some air blowing on your face.

Turn the wick up on the blower, put a 44 or 46 tooth pully on that thing and let it sing , pully ratio x blower step ratio x rpm , turn it up until you get to 89,000rpm impeller speed at 8000rpm engine speed

Keith Turk are the builder and owner of this car. It became the famous magazine car when Keith teamed with Freiburger for some time. The story behind that can be read online. It's kind of the same now, Alex are borrowing the car from Keith and have borrowed an engine to use for it from Freiburger.
