Thanks for publishing these tips. Gives me an idea of what to check for smoke coming out of my Riello F3 (Series 40) oil burner vent hole.

That piping job was so uniform unlike the heater skelter I usually find. Good to see nice work like that. My uncle did his jobs like that, then photographed them. During bids his prices would be higher than many, but would show the binder with pictures of his work an said, you don't know what your getting from them, here's what I give you. Won most of his contracts doing that.

Hi Steve how can u use a pare of grips on a perfectly good nut on the pump filter a correct size spanner or as we call it a shifter in UK you call it a movable spanner please .

Hey steve i have a 4 Reillo r 40 f5. Keeps tripping. I reset motor wont spin. If i help it with a screwdriver it will spin and fire up. Thought it was bad spot on motor. Changed motor was good for a few days did same thing. Next attempt is the capacitor. Or should i look at something else. Nee filter and nozzle. Was just done.
@stevenlavimoniere3 ай бұрын
capacitor 1st or maybe pump binding did you have water in fuel ?

Very informative video. Does the Riello use the same nozzles as the Beckets? Just curious because you mentioned in another video that you have a separate tool kit just for Riello burners. Thanks Steve.
@stevenlavimoniere9 жыл бұрын
Andrea Echevarria all the nozzles are the same ,just different gph and angles for different burners .but the thread is the same

Thank you I finally found a video on how to bleed my Riello BF5 oil burner, the time out is so short like 5 to 7 seconds, I been trying to find out how to keep the pump running with out the fire eye kicking the thing out long before I even get oil, this ill let me do it the first time around not doing it 50 plus time.. I see the tip your putting in on that NYT IS A 75-70b WERE MINE IS A 85-60B, THE CONTROL on that boiler is electronic just like the fist boiler I bough, that had the beckett burner, but when nyt warranty it 5 years later from the fire box crack, they shipped me a new unit with a Riello BF5 burner and it came with the good old mechanical control. the electronic control one had an out side temp prob that depending on the weather out side it would cut the set water temp back is warm out, and take water temp up when -30, now with this new one it stays at the set high temp of 200, the boiler has adimistic hot water coil I use for my hot water, so in spring summer and fall I have to turn the water temp down to 160 when I don't need heat. were the electronic one did it for me, but to replace that computer control was hundreds og $

I have a Pensotti with a Riello F5, installed in 93, looks like it was right off the showroom. Just clean it and a coat of wax every 7 or 8 years. Looks new. Fire engine red.

With the pump spinning will solenoid for the jet line be energized at all?
@arnoldcustom8 жыл бұрын
thought you jumped 5 to 6 to run motor and pump to bleed? pls clairphy
@hvac014538 жыл бұрын
no solenoid, no fuel in the chamber
@arnoldcustom8 жыл бұрын
well that why I asked to clairify, as he says and shows only jumping 5 and 6, that only starts the motor and do not pull in the solenoid too start the pump, there 4 wire off the solenoid, so there are other terminals hes not showing that need to be jumped, witch are they?

I'm looking at going to school for Oil Burner Technician. Do you recommend taking it or Take Gas Fitter instead ?

here in Canada if you buy fuel oil colored for equipment it is far cheeper all the time, in winter if you have it delivered, your tank cant be over 10 years old and ust be inspected every 10 years, if you cant show the paper work and the date stamp on the tank is 10 years or older they will not deliver to you, 12 years a go o bought 2 new tanks one for the house and one for my shop, the one for the shop I never used, still has the factory caps in the tank, well now both tanks are over 10 years, no good they don't deliver, but that fine with me as I'm not paying the heating tax on it, for 13 year I pick up my oil in a 300 gallon tank in my truck, its the same fuel as 30 cents a lt less and I don't need to spend 400$ every 10 years plus another 250$ for the inspection for a guy to come here to look and not even know halk of what I know, can you beleave, on inspection they want your 3/8 copper line at the tank out side to have a 12 inch coil of copper tubing with 6 coils in it, they say it is to stop water getting to your burner, well until that water gets in that coil a frezes up at -50 and you have no heat, I have the sock filter out side at the tank, and a spin on filter to take out any water in the house, 1 line system, always though of changing it to a 2 line, but the tanks do not have a second port to return the oil to the to, a tee in the bottom don't work
@hvac014538 жыл бұрын
code says 20 years and it goes by the data plate welded to the tank,... Not sure if this only applies to buried tanks though. If buried, they have to be double wall.

I wish the 2 boilers I got had a big door that opens at the burner end for cleaning, I have to try and clean it out though that small hole the burner go in,,, same with every other oil boiler I have ever worked on.. never seen one with a big door until now. at first I thought that was a NYT LIKE MINE BUT IT CANT BE WITH THAT DOOR
@arnoldcustom8 жыл бұрын
one thing about my Riello BF5 that big aluminum cover, is held on with 4 screws, from day one the 2 bottom ones the what little treads are in it do not hold the cover and the 2 top one you really have to watch and they just hold and that it, to go to a bigger screw and tap the holes, there is not enough meet to do that, so a new boiler and I have to use a rubber strap, that sucks
