I’m a darker-skinned Black man with a beard and I’ve tried this sunscreen. I love it for when I’m going to work out or run outdoors! I don’t wear it when I’m going to be inside primarily because it does leave a slight white cast on me and it kinda clumps in the beard (especially on reapplication). I wouldn’t use this as my daily sunscreen for everyday use but it’s great if you’re going to the beach or going to be outside because of the high protection and water resistance.

i've been looking for a video with someone of our skin tone applying this sunscreen. I will be getting this to use on my body during the summer. I have to go to the dermatologist to get skin biopsies done so i realize i need to be more careful about wearing suncreen
@ianjarrett74492 ай бұрын
It must be the Tinosorb M in the formula that may cause the slight white cast. Have you tried the Riemann P20 Urban shield? If yes, did that one leave a cast on you?
@WadeLees3 жыл бұрын
The UVA protection factor is over 50(!). It says so on the bottle. Not sure how you missed that. And if you did look a bit on Reddit, you would have found that the specific UVA-PF reported by the company is 56. Everyone gets so focused on those Boots stars, which are very misleading... you explained the ratio aspect, which is great! I just wish you had pointed out in the video that they actually do provide the actual UVA-PF. So many brands don’t, and it’s a breath of fresh air that Reimman does!
3 жыл бұрын
It’s written on the back in small font, which is odd since with a value that high itd be great marketing to have in a more visible place. I choose to avoid Reddit. Very... polarizing and sensationalizing perspectives over there
@WadeLees3 жыл бұрын
@ You’re totally right, why they don’t advertise that is beyond me...
3 жыл бұрын
But then that brings into question what the SPF actually is! Considering the star system and the 50+ UVA-PF, it must be remarkably high
@WadeLees3 жыл бұрын
@ yah, that’s the speculation of Reddit and Cyrille. It’s certainly far from perfect for everyday cosmetic elegance, but for travel and beach days? It’s the absolute best we have I’d wager!
@heredianna24963 жыл бұрын
SPF 30, 50 etc... is used for UVB only. It explains how much longer it will take for your skin to burn. UVA does not burn the skin, so what is exactly that 50 protection....?

@noora77733 жыл бұрын
Cyrille has mentioned that UVA-PF for this is over 50. The UVB protection is much higher than just 50, so that's why the star system for UVA protection gives just 4 stars for this. The star system is awful...It punishes products with very high UVB protection. Nice to know that this isn't that greasy on the face...might try this at some point.

Have you tried it? How did it perform?
@noora77732 жыл бұрын
@@nurhanturky no, actually I haven’t tried it yet because I haven’t needed hard core protection lately. But if would go for a holiday somewhere sunny place, this would be my choice! La Roche Posay Anthelios UVmune ultra light would be great too, if you tolerate alcohol in facial spf! It has excellent UVB protection but likely less shiny than P20 on the face.

I ordered this sunscreen a week ago and I’m excited to get it after watching this review 😊 For a sunscreen with this high of a protection, I think it wore great on your skin just based on the video. I’ve wasted so much money on greasy but high protection European sunscreens over the last 2 years. The cons you stated here don’t apply that much to me because I rarely wear foundation or heavy makeup and I don’t have a beard lol I’m Asian with medium skin tone (NC35 I think) so I think this will give a slight white cast upon wear. However, my absolute priority is how it feels on the skin apart from the protection of course. I’m tempering my expectations in regards to how it wears on the eyelids but I’m excited that it didn’t irritate your eyes. There’s a new sunscreen filter exclusive to Pierre Fabre (Avene, Aderma, etc.) called TriAsorB. I also bought the newest product from Avene with this latest sunscreen filter. It is supposed to not have any white cast. You’re probably swimming in sunscreen right now but you can maybe review this in the future.

This apparently has some out-of-this-world protection! Skin feel is the big thing, but I think putting on an appropriate amount (Im of the opinion some sunscreen enthusiasts over apply) and incorporating it into your routine in a manner fitting to your skin type (me using this as a moisturizer) helps a lot! I didn’t think it was overtly greasy for me. Let me know how you like it!

It’s some of the best protection on the market right now and I believe the ppd rating is 56 which is basically unheard of! The big thing for me and sunscreens is whether it pills throughout the day and on reapplication and for me this doesn’t do that which is a massive win. The only other sunscreen with a similar ppd rating I can think of is the altruist which pills like crazy on my skin unfortunately, would love to hear your experience though if you’ve ever tired it x
