Beautiful bike. I bought 2. One for my wife, and one for her boyfriend so they can take my child to watch Polo with the nanny on the weekend. I wasn't planning on buying, but as I went to drop my Lange & Sohne off for a service, I saw how cheap they were and bought them. Thanks for the video. -Eugene

Wow, R&Ms pricing is going up and up. I’d opt for the tern or trek fetch range. They’re nearly half the price to do the same job.

True though i think Benno is the best value. i got my boost on sale for half the price of a multicharger. HALF! and it's probably a better bike, benno is a genius.

Boggles how locking of the bike is such a colossal oversight. Feels like engineers could offer smth more than a cafe lock.. I love the bike otherwise… How do owners securely lock it? Huge chain on a tall post via mid-frame? Would smth like this fit into built in storage box? Any particular suggestions?

I know... you caught me! I felt bad, but didn't have my helmet on this trip and was covering the bikes opportunistically. Stayed in the park as much as possible so as not to set too bad an example. It was super sunny, so at least I had my Tilly hat!

10:24 regarding the lack of bottle cage bosses, I suspect that, as a European brand, they’re targeting this bike more towards what the Dutch refer to as “fietser” type everyday riders rather than the more hardcore “Wielrenners” (the high speed, distance, rock hopping, athletic crowd that wears bike gear, spandex, etc.).

Great for urban areas. In rural areas range is better without suspensions bucause suspensions absorb forward momentum. I prefer my Gazelle NL ($2,500) with large tires & comfortable seat.

There doesn't seem to be a good place to attach a D-lock. In the UK I wouldn't want to leave this bike anywhere without a beefy lock holding it onto something solid, and I just can't see a good place to attach it.

That's a good point. Got me a litelok from the UK ( belgium here so pretty much the same...."problem" sigh) and I simply can't use it on a couple of bikes. My Tern quickhaul is the most useable one for that particular issue. Driving a replacement Sparta C-grid energy right now cause the Tern's at the vendor. You'd expect a bike like that to be easy to lock. You can't. Not with that litelok( which is currently one of the only two locks that can't be grinded). Many manufacturers seem to produce bikes that simply need to be stolen. Same problem with engineers. They don't seem to test their brain product in real life. Whereas it's easy to safely fort knox lock a tinker, the multitinker...not so.

I have a Riese and Muller Tinker. It was 5k when I purchased it a couple of years ago. Nice ebike but clearly, grossly overpriced and the costs of their ebikes increasing yearly.

Nice. Seems mostly for running errands, groceries, kid drop offs. This isn’t so much a trail bike or exercise tool. I could see this as a car replacement at $4/5k, it’s a good trade up. 😎

Totally agree... save money on gas, parking, stay healthy even if you miss the gym from time to time, make new friends along the way, and no car insurance or expensive repairs!

No comparison whatsoever, not even close. You get what you pay for. Besides, where I live, something like a Benno boost is pretty much the same price. A no brainer.

@@johnmaletic898 These are bikes to get from A to B and to carry some stuff. Almost any bike will do this. For this price you can buy a motorcycle that can get you from A to B in more comfort and can carry more cargo.

I realize some of the little complaints I have can be easily overcome, and aren't deal killers with such a premium product. I do wonder though sometimes, why certain aspects are skipped. Bosch and Riese & Müller are very intentional smart companies.
