If you like gallops, you gotta check out Iced Earth. Jon Schaffer is the king of gallops. He uses them in literally every single song. I've never seen anyone play faster and cleaner rhythm guitar. I love Matt and he's great, but as a pure rhythm guitarist Schaffer is on another level. For super fast gallops above 220BPM check out the "Alive in Athens" videos of Dante's Inferno, Travel In Stygian, The Path I Choose, Pure Evil, Stormrider, Cast In Stone, When The Night Falls.

Yeah, it is really cool when players use their actual signature models. Some guys say that they don't want their name on the guitar if it isn't good enough to take off of the shelf and use. In the past, I have often wondered if brands like Gibson will make guitars for these guys and then put an Epiphone headstock and/or logo on it.... Just so that kids buy is... That thought has gone through my mind many, many times. However, the new Epiphones are much, much better than they were in the past. I have had several since I started playing in 92 or 93...I loved some and absolutely hated others. But the newer ones are much better. The last one I truly hated was made in either 2008 or 2009....
