I just ordered this for my S5IIX. This is a no-brainer for me, as my S5IIX is always on a tripod. Thanks a lot for making a video on this.

I thought I needed to buy the Smallrig mamba cage for it to fit, but I am glad to report that my $30 cage from Neewer works fine. My only issue is that my moman V-mount battery does not work with the cage. Other than that, I am happy with the cage.

I think this would be perfect for the Blackmagic Micro G2. I filled out the form on their website, thanks for this thorough walk through.

Great rig by Rigidpro..But I feel they missed out on adding like a bay for nvme ssd installation with all that extra space.. would’ve made it more valuable

Welcome to the PYXIS alternative. I'm also enjoying a slightly different version in that I use an Atomos Ninja with Atomos connect instead of the BlackMagic Video Assist 12G.

The Pyxis shipped in Europe at the end of September/early October

can't recommend the usb c power aproach on the s5II. mine overheated and i lost footage. it actually writes a warning not to record and usb-power at the same time.
@ConstantGeekery13 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I always record over HDMI so it doesn’t heat up the same, but one to watch out for.

On your S5 II. Set the temperature threshold to high and you won’t have any problems. Powered and recorded for 8hrs with constantly charging on the USB-C port

@@PhilHover well it was not like it displayed a warning or something like that and then shut down. what happened is i couldn't push any button or even turn it off, any more. only thing that helped was removing the battery. hence lost footage. so thanks for the tip, but i'm never gonna go near this any more.

Never had an issue with mine. I don't get any warning.

The only issue with this cage is that it won't let me use the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter with my Panasonic S1H. That's too bad.
@ConstantGeekery10 күн бұрын
That is a downside. 😩

I have the same 7" Video Assist on a naked S5ii and that makes it heavy and unbalanced so im confused why people add such a bulky cage. I already have the BMCC6K but also wanted a BRAW setup for gimbal, autofocus and stable footage.

because people build it out like he did? huh lol

It's a shame that Panasonic didn't fix the AFC on video above F8. AFC only works on Canon EF lenses up to F8. Above that is the focus from the S5 Mark I system, including the Lumix lenses. So if you have EF lenses do not buy Lumix and Sigma MC-21 for video.
@nigerian-nightmare10 күн бұрын
That's absurd. I use MC-21 with EF lenses on my S5IIk with no issues. What the heck are you shooting above f8? Get an ND filter if you have to shoot above f8.

Nice video. What is image quality of this setup vs pyxis?
@MrJayclas14 күн бұрын
The Pyxis is better but not better in low light.

you lose the ability to change ISO in post
@dewbzki14 күн бұрын
@@ThatGuyOverThereWeirdResolve has an option that let's users adjust an exposure slider. It's basically the same thing as the iso slider for blckmagic cameras but since not all cameras measure iso the same, braw for some give you an exposure slider that functions the same way

why can't you people just give props to cameras on their own terms? why does everything have to be a useless comparison?
