Updating the topology in a non-destructive manner is something I need to remember to come back to in the future. I've been doing it the hard way it seems. Love these tutorials

Rigging is a hard path to go down, only the strong willed can walk it. Everyone else loves playing with textures

I discovered you because I was rigging a character just to pose it and you learned me some interesting tips; now I will follow the entire workshop because I like how you explain things and it's not bad to learn more about rigging, even if I only use it for pose character

Hey Anthony! Thank you a lot for these tutorials! I've learned a lot with them! As a request, do you think you could add an extra tutorial to this series about how to import the rig (possibly with animations) into either Unreal Engine 4 or 5? This would really help me and my teammates, since we are having a hard time understanding that part! Even if you dont, thank you anyways!! 😊😊
@antCGi3 жыл бұрын
That's not a problem, I can look into it for you. All I do is bake the animation onto the joints, delete the rig and then export the skeleton and model. I know the exporter can bake the animation too, but this way you know its doing exactly what you need. If you ping me on Discord I can walk you through it, or someone else on the server might help.

if the model is mostly symmetrical but one arm has a glove to the elbow can it still be combined to mirror skin weights? The model has asymmetrical pants too with one leg having mid thigh shorts and the other full length

What would you do if the model has smoothing surfaces with button 3 in maya?
@antCGi3 жыл бұрын
I think the same still applies, keep your topology clean 👍

Yes it was, but Autodesk kindly allowed me to share it here too.

[9:10] Isn't it necessary to be precise? I'm a novice, so I use an "Camera and Aim" when I need to rotate an object and have it point somewhere specific (or temporarily use constraints) I'm still a novice, so I don't know the best practice, and I guess; You do it to lighten the video or it is not necessary. Note: I mean just moving it with the visual tool is usually not accurate. _Text translated from Spanish from Spain to English (possible errors)_

Amazing work as always. I have a small question, can we bake and export offset parent matrix rig in fbx format? I remember in first maya release it’s been impossible
@antCGi3 жыл бұрын
Currently you can’t bake out the offsetParentMatrix values directly because they aren’t applied to the main transforms.
