Hi Peter great video. To encapsulate Hogan’s five lessons he said thé downswing begins with the right knee moving inward towards the target controlling the right hip as we simultaneously swing the club with our right shoulder under unhanded swinging of the club head. I now have an active right side dominant golf swing with my lead lead side being reactive so I no longer have to think of shifting and turning my body. Going to do a For Golf Sake! That’s certainly wheat Hogan said he felt. It is an option. Pressure through the feet has more influence than knee movement and the knee movement is a response to a combination of hip movement and foot pressure. Glad it’s helping your golf though.

Yes, I've got that, thank you. Back in the 1960s I watched Gary Player at Wentworth and had a knuckled-in right knee all my golfing career (and played single 'cap golf). This is a game changer for me when I'm trying to get as much efficiency as possible.

What if you concentrated on correct knee movement rather than hip movement?

Ideally your knees respond to your hip movement. However if you have a lot of unnecessary knee movement then you would be best to focus on knees, and reducing their movement.

I have a problem I can’t seem to find an instructional video for. Instead of my right knees going down too early, my right knee doesn’t turn on the downswing until I’m almost to the ball. Causes me to be standing up pretty straight and muscling my arms through impact rather than being behind the ball and whipping my arms straighter though impact. Confusing because I can only find people with the issue of firing hips too early. I’m about a 6 handicap and can hit straight but drives are 280 max due to the issue
