Najeela is so broken that its hard for her to compete in semi-casual metas without warping them around her. Upon seeing the Commander line-up I figured she'd win and that Emmara would do nothing and lo and behold, poor Seb lol

My najeela is soft banned in my group. It’s not fully optimized, but it’s damn consistent at turns 4-5 being board lethal without response. She’s joined by zada as also soft banned. For similar reasons.

Do you think that if Najeela got an errata of some sort that would make her activated ability a once per turn she'd be fine? Or still op? Or would loose too much power to be played? Not that I want either of that (without combos, she's just a strong aggro deck) but it would be interesting to know what people think

In sheep's clothing if it was a tap ability and she didn’t untap herself essentially? I think that’d kill her playability. Or really prioritize other pay for more combat. She’d be much more niche.

@@insheepsclothing5574 honestly she would still be op. creating this much tokens is the backbone. The activated is tremendously strong but it makes you stretch your mana base. Not a big problem is you lean in some olors you don't have to sell your body for lands, but still. Even without that just drop 1 drop 2 drop 3 Najeela, t4 shared animosity, attack with 5, get 5 tokens, your 5 first warriors got +9/+0. and you have 1 mana left for a variety of protections. there is at least 3 green hexproof spells, force spike, swansong, dispel, miscast, disrupt for counters , and black 1 mana that can revive her.

yeah, after building her she is wayy to powerful for my meta, add on the fact that her deck is now around 2-4 times more expensive than the other decks in my group due to me putting stuff in. one of my other decks is also around her power level is my ink treader nephilim deck, which can combo off and win consistently before turn 7 and also be extremely difficult to interact with, despite only being around 40$. i still have a tuvasa voltron deck and a low power muldrotha deck to play with though.

It's good to see ppl still use emmara as a commander. I did use her as a comm at one point but then I got anafenza the foremost and made a Angel token deck. It's pretty fun.

Saw Najeela in the lineup and knew who won. Card is busted. We had 4 Najeela players in my LGS pre-lockdown, and I would focus them down so hard they all took them apart cos it got boring, knowing I would kill them even if it meant losing. The meta saw a huge improvement after they were gone.

I love seeing an actual Warrior Tribal Najeela deck. Playing at my lgs a guy pulls out Najeela and all it was was good stuff, *yawn*. Uninspired but I like this one, I had Najeela as my Warrior Tribal deck but she drew me hate so I changed it to Morophon and now haven't had a chance to play, (DAMN YOU CORONA!! haha)

That Elesh Norn was a blowout. It sucks that Seb got hit so badly by that and then a bit later the double Pir's Whim. Still a good game, and I was glad to see Jamieson, Max, and Joé all be scary before the game ended.

Nijeila is always a cedh deck. She is a one card combo kill in the command zone, arguably more powerful than Urza by the simple merit of her lower cmc and signifigantly improved consistency. If you see a Nijeila player say "don't worry, it's just warrior tribal", kill them first anyways because Nijeila is never NOT a proactive CEDH deck, unless they actively refuse to activate her secondary ability.

I’m not a fan of Najeela. She’s an absurdly strong commander with an easy build around that needs to be constantly wiped. She’ll completely run away with the game given the slightest opportunity, so the best counterplay is focusing the Najeela player hard. That can be really annoying for both the person playing her and the table.

Muddstah, I was wondering, do you think CEDH should be its own format? The more I play the more I feel like commander is becoming a "pay to win" game." Cards like Mana Vault and Mana Crypt could easily go into 90% of decks, but a majority of players would not dream of spending the money for them. Some say we need to have conversation about power level before the game, I feel like that conversation would be much less necessary if we just separated the formats. I think Tabernacle APV, Mana Vault, Mana Crypt, Armageddons and stacks should be banned from Casual. That's just me, thoughts?

I always prioritise killing the Najeela player first, if possible. If you give them even the slightest room to breathe they are capable of wiping out an entire table out of nowhere.

I was a former najeela player when she came out. She was my first self made deck. At some point ppl have to focus you like you said and in the end it's not very fun to play unless you play something like 7-8 counterspells. You can go infinite on turn 5 with cheap cards. In the end, I crack it and rebuilt it again, and played it once, I won turn 5 always the same way, it's not very fun imo.

This version of my najeela deck was not meant to be competitive in any way. Yes the commander itself is really really good, but all the other cards in the deck have a mana curve that makes the deck be more casual. I played a lot of games with seb and max, and the win ratio is pretty balanced. This kind of games where I win out of nowhere don't happen that often, and with Max's board wipes deck as we like to call it, it's really hard for me and seb to really set ourselves up to win.

What is the theme of Max's deck? It looks like just a 4c goodstuff pile... none of the cards he played signaled a cohesive theme or reasons why he picked those commanders. I mean play whatever you think is fun I personally just find 4c goodstuff decks to be uninspiring.

I think it was most likely ramp into big beaters with fat asses and stomp face with doublestrikers, not having to worry too much about crackback due to Ikra, Lifegain, and people getting beaten down hard and fast, plus being in the best removal colours. Seems like it would be a fairly linear gameplan, but solid and consistent, plus likely very fair, and varied enough with creatures that while the gameplan is the same, the different abilities of the creatures let you have some variety, plus perhaps even a small toolbox of specific answers. Overall while its not a deck I would personally run (i'm a grixis and sultai gal through and through) it looks fun and cool.

And we continue to see that Najeela is busted. That card is way too easy to break with very little. Super not fun to play against, you have to use every removal spell you have on that card or you lose. Najeela decks are always one card away from infinite combat steps. just ew

It's worse when you realize that i use cards from another deck to represent my tokens since i didnt have any tokens on me. Those light blues sleeves are my feather deck , i believe. :P
