Your customers are going to the wrong person Jimmy. Particle Matter Sensors are the domain of Capt James T Kirk of the star ship Enterprise. Seriously though it take an honest person to say they cannot fix the problem whereas the main dealers will keep robbing you. Great videos.

You were looking at wrong data pid. That was low side EGR diff. pressure. DPF should be "DPF inlet pressure", nothing to do with EGR. particulate matter sensor by itself does not trigger P2002. P2002 is triggered by too low or high(rarely) pressure. Open loop percentage was highly greater than closed loop, that could mean that the inlet pressure sensor hose has a crack or is fully blocked before sensor. Closed loop is calculated by inlet pressure sensor, open loop is calculated by different parameters, like driving speed, time engine running, accelerator pedal times pressed, ECT, e.c.t... by watching your videos I have seen that you want to see inlet(differential) pressure at idle about 10mBar. From my experience that is too low. My general rule of thumb is at idle 30mbar, high RPM max 170mBar. You read on manometer 90mBar what I would say is good. Yes, there was no parameter for inlet pressure in readable pressure, but there was PID in voltage(diesel particulate filter(V)). At ~0.45V pressure is 0Bar (KOEO). Idle should be higher. Did the voltage change?

I had 3 Ford kuga’s in a week with the 1.5 diesel engine with the same issue and code, pure black shoe polish in the exhaust exit pipe all 2018 ish with under 40k on the clock. Definitely a bad DPF material problem, I went through everything and couldn’t find any issues. They all had good recent service but what I did notice on them all was oil life was on 0 and when I reset it looking on the scanner they only reset to 1% not 100% which most other fords go to, I repeated the process with a autel 909 snap on autocom and forscan paid version with the same results, so it could also be a software issue causing the issue through oil dilution but trying to regenerate on every key cycle, overwhelming the DPF core over time.

we do seem to have a problem with euro 6 cars, but kimmy they are all going to be euro 6 and above eventually so the sooner you get solutions the better, i did notice that on a lot of these euro 6 cars the required options that you normally use do not come up, maybe its time for extra diagnostic machines, as it cannot be design flaws on all of them, just a good glimpse into the future when we have to change our cars and vans, but you have iven us a good idea what not to buy lol...keep up the good work really enjoy all your videos..

Most people who buy a 4x4 pick up give them really heavy use, Often used by builders with a ton of sand in the back and a mini digger on the tow hitch. They hammer up and down motorways and Highways Maintenance guys often leave them ticking over for hours. Oh and they are also often used and run on diesel that's from a grubby can! They work in filthy conditions too! no matter the make, they need VERY careful buying, I doubt this truck has been clocked, as its how I would expect to see the underside of a hard worked pick up, regardless of milage. There is an underlying question though. Why isn't it being fixed under Ford warranty? No service history is my guess. Great channel BTW. So informative and honest. My guess is you will get to the bottom of this issue on another Ranger soon!

My Custom 2.0 is as rusty as this at 21000 miles. I know this is genune as I've had it from new. It's treated more like a car as I only use it for camping and trips to the tip etc. Short runs have killed it I think as I get "Service needed" message all the time. It then goes away. I've only managed to catch it once nefore ot disappeared and put my OBDII tester on it and it came up with P2463 I think it was. It very rarely goes in to limp mode but when it does it still goes very well but doesn't accelerate as quickly. I'm going to do a Jimmy DPF clean with an aerosol I got. I doubt it will work like the Launch cleaner but "hey ho give it a go"!

Jimmy the p2002 can be caused by air leak pre dpf- you fixed that with the clamp. The dpf sensor that was suppose to have been changed wasn't reading the 8 hpa you had on you nanometer. So would say it need to be checked. Wasn't the air filter blocked seen on your other video..That won't help.

Had problem with DPF on BMW X5, found solution was to use hot water in a garden sprayer connected to dpf pressure sensor hose, after warming engine squirt for second or two every minute or so till roughly 3 or 4 litres have been used. This enabled the regeneration to be done via scan tool. wouldnt do so if pressure gets too high.Worked for me.

My penny's worth, I use a good fuel/dpf cleaning additive with tank refills very regularly. To maintain cleaner fuel injectors, cylinders and exhaust. ( It is the best care for any diesel engine and it will save you on maintenance cost) . If you cannot avoid short distance city traffic . Then regularly take the car out on a highway run for a 30km run for example, to get the operating temprature for dpf system to enable its operating function. In the end, the car and user will benefit.

My first move would be to assume the code is coming from the soot you observed therefore the DPF has failed, I would fit a DPF from another vehicle type say a transit, the fact there are multiple issues being reported points to a design / manufacturing fault especially if the architecture is different, but you do see soot innthe exhaust which shouldn't really be there

Governments keep tightening the screw on emissions standards and the truth is that manufacturers can't realistically keep up. So, the manufacturers are forced to do things like cheat with software and/or they build junk systems that only last as long as the warranty. Then when the thing takes a crap, the owner is left holding the can in a big way. The vehicle gets sold on and on, passing the problem to the next poor unsuspecting schmuck. Sometimes the only thing you can do is to tell the owner that there's nothing you can do for them. No use in the mechanic being out of pocket because of it, as well as the owner.
