I cannot believe JLR techs can't work this out!! It's so obvious a tailpipe should be completely clean on a modern euro 6 vehicle. ANY black soot in tailpipe is a red flag. These things are terrible. Lack of back pressure from dpf = insufficient egr flow. You know your shit Jimmy. Hopefully more people can learn from your generosity, including myself. Don't buy any modern euro 6 vehicle with adblue or you WILL be spending a lot of money on repairs no matter how your driving style
@davyarthurs11 ай бұрын
Exactly! Any mpg savings etc over the petrol equivalent will soon be wiped out with the cost of repairing these disasters!

So basically the car is scrap 🫣, you won’t be seeing 10/15yr old ones of these will you

whats causing the blowby and the air coming from inlet, is it the dpf or is it the engine is done ?
@ORileysAutos11 ай бұрын
Likely engine is getting worn. Piston rings

I have a Jaguar E pace same engine and codeP049B problem.EGR cooler filter blocked.Changed the filter now sorted(hopefully) No DPF problem
@ORileysAutos11 ай бұрын
It will be back if the DPF hasn't been done
@sempereadem54eadem6411 ай бұрын
Hi Jimmy I know what you are saying but my DPF is clear and I have had no Dpf fault code come up only the P049B.The filter was changed on the egr cooler and I have not had a fault code come on over three weeks.Engine running fine and nothing coming out of my fillet cap like the one in the video.

Was it black soot on the filter ???

What Ingenium means? Defined as natural talent or "prerational" genius, ingenium was held in contrast to the wisdom gained from practice and experience, and considered a divine stamp on the soul delivered at the instant of one's birth. 😮😮😮 Certainly not the case on these cars
@phillipcole-c7p11 ай бұрын
how can the engine be nakered after only 17k miles????? and why so much blowbye?
@chrisdavidson943111 ай бұрын
Out of interest Jimmy, what has caused the DPF to crack ? Forced regen's ? or just bad design ?
@khalidacosta713311 ай бұрын
Hairdressers who only bought it to show off.

Cheap, shit, Chinese DPF’s.

Considering what this car costs, and the low mileage, it is unfit for purpose. There’s too many of them in similar condition for the manufacture to claim it’s a one off. A general recall and a permanent fix should be made. My low rent Qashqai has 350,000 on the clock, never had an issue with the dpf or any other part of the exhaust system. And yet this “premium” badge car is failing at such a low mileage? I’d be mad as hell if that was my car.
@bigjml11 ай бұрын
Your low rent vehicle isn’t a Euro 6 engine. You can direct most of your ire at the EU and UK Governments and their restrictions. Strangely the 3.0 v6 diesel is more reliable and cleaner than many people want to admit Though with those miles I would suspect that car has had very few oil and filter changes and has likely spent most of its life with oil suffering from diesel dilution. All things which affect older Euro 4 and Euro 5 diesels less than Euro 6. Though there aren’t that many Euro 4 diesels have a DPF, the 1st Euro 4 diesel I used that had a DPF was the mk2 Zafira 1.9 CDTI, they were a nightmare as in 2006 very few diesels had a DPF in the UK, the manual gearbox Zafira never had a DPF but the Automatic did. They suffered with all kinds of issues, diesel contamination of the oil which caused engine failure in as little as 10k miles, EGR problems etc.

@@bigjml well it’s either because I change my oil and filter every 10,000 miles (half of what Nissan says you should) or I do long distance runs/very little city driving that has kept my exhaust system running fine
@bigjml11 ай бұрын
@@davidmehlhorn726 Its more likely a combination of not being a Euro 6 and you maintain it. A 69 plate Evoque with 17k miles is likely been used in a City for short runs. And with the 2 year Service Intervals at JLR its probably only had one oil and filter change in 4 years. My daughter has an Audi Q2 1.5 TFSi Auto 2 year Service Intervals, with expensive 0w20 508/509 oil. It also got an interim oil and filter change by me. Car is 3 years old, and has 28k miles, 18k of those miles in the last 18mths. Has had 3 oil and filter changes. If she had stuck to Audi recommendations it would have had one. Sometimes the simple things are the most important.
@Randomisrory11 ай бұрын
I would imagine both mate Diesels are designed to work long hours not short runs so yeah that’s why yours is okay
@paulnolan135211 ай бұрын
What a crock of shite, another one for the breakers.
@195430711 ай бұрын
bloody hell a 69 plate aswell

Wait hang on 17k miles and it’s tired 😂 wtf now i knew these ingeniums were shit I had a 2l xf that blew up and left me stranded repaired it then the engine seized and left me stranded again but it had 136k on it. Are they seriously this bad now mine was a 2015
@norman752711 ай бұрын
I can't believe why people buy these crap Range Rovers. Unreliable car with very high fuel consumption with rubbish incompetent after sales service. My neighbour purchased same car 6 months ago, broken down 3 times. He handed the keys back for full refund, not before taking the dealership to court. Buy a Toyota Rav 4
@trevlynock517011 ай бұрын
Scandalous to find yourself in this position with a 4 year old car,let alone a so called luxury brand. I wouldn’t touch a JLR car,either in or out of warranty,with barge pole.
@rxy258011 ай бұрын
Scrap it , be cheaper in the long run
@stevenkerry310111 ай бұрын
so basically Jimmy it is a crap engine
@kenlarman425211 ай бұрын
An expensive decision coming up for this poor owner, and probably let down by people in the past who have no idea to logically look into the original issue’s which has now sent this engine on a downward path. You can only save so many Jimmy but unfortunately some will slip you by and not have the fortune of ever seeing your healing hands 😂

DPF cracked after only 17k miles what a joke u would expect it to at least last til 100k not 17k

@davyarthurs11 ай бұрын
You’d have thought so, but they’re really that bad! If you’ve got a decent old skool well built motor, hang on to it. Emissions regs and the race to the bottom has killed reliability.
@tomsurrey225211 ай бұрын
Scrap all DPFs! Waste of time, and money! Diesel price, today, is now, where it was on par with petrol, 5 pence dearer than petrol!
@Lilly-vk2wl11 ай бұрын
Ive got a renault kadjar 1.5dci with the p049b do you think it would be the dpf ive cleaned the low pressure egr and dpf thanks
@Randomisrory11 ай бұрын
Best thing for that is map it out.dpf bypass is already done Leave it broken she will run all day long and give 45/50 mpg driving reasonable. But yes, they are a bit of a crap design, especially the timing chain we run ours on 5W-30 not the 0/30 oil kills them
@zukhrufhussain22715 ай бұрын
So should I only use 5w 30 oil Simon my jaguar?

Wait for it, wait for it, here it is…. Oil pump on front of block is the source of all the engine problems, replace it now before you destroy the engine, change the chains the same time as that thin single bicycle chain of a engine chain will chatter and stretch.. My siblings own and operate a pair of JLR franchises, most warranty returns and many out of warranty from this block, I have an buddy in Somerset UK (not NJ) who works for a non-franchised LandRover Workshop and he says their techs are continually rebuilding these with low miles..

Bonjour , my Evoque 2016 get also P049B , i spend 400€ to change ithe filter. In fact i love my car , no other problem with. The problem is that with 9 automatic gear , the motor run too slow ! it is madatory to use sometime Sport mode and manual selection and run over 3000 rpm at least once a month.
