My sister was the piano player, but I did learn the organ just enoughto play and have fun singing along. Then it seemed like life happened, and I didn't go any further. Then I thought buying something to play off, and on but then I decided I was too old until you inspired me. I was all set to purchase either a Genos or a electric piano, but no one had any and most of the music stores were closed down. Well, I haven't kicked the bucket yet (will be 81 soon) I'm inspired again so think I'll start looking around for something. In the meantime I'll just watch your videos over, and over like I did during Covid Lockdown. You are simply the Cat's Whiskers, and very talented gentleman. Korg are making many video manuals to help with every aspect. It is much easier to work than a PA4X and sounds much better and about twice as powerful under the bonnet too! Kindest regards Graham

Since you're from a keyboard shop with Yamaha products as well, perhaps you're the one who can answer a weird doubt of mine. For years on end, I couldn't decide whether I wanted to keep playing just classical music (as an amateur) or changing to creative keyboards like the Yamaha Genos. But since I'm so used to hammered keys and it's so embarrassing for me to quit the piano completely, this brand new Korg seems to be the best of two worlds, ignoring price. Anyways, if I am to stick primarily to classical solo piano, then I guess I should rather look for a "dedicated" piano keyboard with very responsive keys. So, I'm yet to decide which one to pick among the Korg PA5X (88-key version), Korg Nautilus (88-key) and a Yamaha AvantGrand NU1X. Are the Korg workstations a jack-of-all-trades, or should I go for the AvantGrand if I want to learn technically demanding classical songs?

I saw a pa5x on youtube with bagpiipes mine is only 2 weeks old with hundreds of sounds but no bagpipes, would this have been fashioned by the player or can one be avaiable.

Hello Graham, its posible to use vocal harmonizer by stearing harmony live on keyboard while midi song playing? Its harmonizing only while style playing, by song switch off. Sorry just having keyboard home 1st day :)

Korg- better hardware/ sequencer/ sound editing/ better 3rd party sounds / styles for middle east/ balkan/ southasian ( indian) music Still busy / overdone bass line/ drum tracks Yamaha - better acoustic sounds ( DNC still is no where near SA2) More free 3rd party styles than all other manufacturers ( korg/ roland/ ketron,etc) combined This is why yamaha is selling more than Korg isn western market ( mid east/ balkans - korg sells more) Korg may sound better since it’s revamped/ more ROM etc. acoustic sounds wise SA 2 still kills DNC. When you compare the styles ( for western music) , Korg’s limitations start to appear. Over produced/ busy bass lines, drum fills that sounds good on it’s own but they are in the way/ obstructing while you sing/ play solos. Most of the Korg supporters here are non western OMB players from middle east/ balkans/ east EU or from west EU while playing their ethnic music where Korg samples and ethnic styles are needed. For a western OMB player ( US/ UK/ English speaking or SE asia OMB English song players) , Yamaha is still the choice ( style availability) for the same reason. Korg needs a strong style writing department if they want to take over. Functionality Korg wins, hands down. You will start to see the problem with the styles later / you will find your self muting multiple parts just to get it right. If you are not middle east/ balkan/ ethnic music maker and who rely on 8 / 16 / country type 4/4 signature US/UK type music player , lack of style availability / busy fills / overcomplex bass lines/ drum pattens that doesn’t fit generic songs will start to appear and it will be too late to return the keyboard. Some of the PA 80’s bad styles are still there. Great editing/ specs/ powerful tools but style quality dynamism still can’t complete with even Tyros2/3. To Korg- please have a good style writers for western 4/4 music ( simple 8, 16 beats). Korg sells well in Middle East/ balkan / east EU/ Indian market but why Yamaha dominates in US/UK/ SE Asia? Style ( simple) availability. I wish Korg has learned, but apparently not much.

Dobrý deň.. Prepáčte že sa vyjadrím trošku horšie oproti vám. Korg používam už vyše 20 rokov, ale ste už naozaj trápny stými štýlmi! To isté dávate do toho čo sú aj v yamahách! Napríklad teraz vyšla nová edícia yamaha psr sx720 920. A už to je naozaj veľa čo si už dovoľujete ako firmy! Prečo dávate do spodných stredných rád tie isté funkcie a plus aj rytmiku?! Napríklad tá stredná rada je niekedy aj praktickejšia ako predošlá vrchná! Toto načo je dobré?! A tie ceny, katastrofa! Uvedomte sa už A zobudte sa už konečne! Chcel som kúpiť novú radu špičku, ale už stačilo! Doteraz som mal ale už nechcem! Prajem pekný deň a ešte raz prepáčte keď som sa zle vyjadril, ale to je môj osobný názor od vášho staršieho používateľa!
