Ringo Starr Calls Paul McCartney the Most "Workaholic" of The Beatles
The Beatles' track record opened the minds of many musicians and fans about musical freedom. The works of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr have become an important part of the history of musical development.
The number of Beatles works cannot be separated from the role of one of the Beatles members. And Ringo Starr revealed that this figure was none other than their bassist and songwriter, Paul McCartney.
In an interview on AXS TV which was broadcast on KZbin recently, Ringo explained Paul's important role in the career of this Liverpool band. All Beatlemaniacs apparently have their 'workaholic' friends to thank.
"Because Paul was a workaholic in the band, we recorded more songs than John and I did. We preferred to relax until Paul called, 'come on guys', and we would go into the studio," continued Ringo.
This happens because the personnel are busy, who already have their own lives. "We suddenly had a life, we had kids, and trying to keep the band together was tough, and that's where we thank Paul," he recalls.
In that interview, Ringo Starr also revealed that actually the members of The Beatles were not very close personally.
"No, we don't get along. We're just four guys, sometimes we have disagreements. But that never affects our music, no matter how bad it gets," he said as quoted by NME.
When performing or recording, The Beatles would focus as if nothing had happened. "When the count starts, we will try our best. And recently I realized it was a natural thing," he concluded.
Recently the Beatles released the documentary "Let it be" a restored version of "let it be" in 1970, this latest documentary has better sound and picture quality. This documentary contains the jamming sessions of Paul, John, George and Ringo during the creation process of every song on their final album as The Beatles, from 1969 to 1970.
However, through this documentary we can also see the four of them closely and realize how creative they are to be able to create a number of legendary songs that are timeless.
Even though it focuses on the process of the members of The Beatles in creating their latest album, this documentary actually also depicts signs of a breakdown in their relationship. Because, a month after the album was released, the band The Beatles officially broke up.
