IMO, Bombadil is the closest thing to a fairy of folk lore and myth (as from legends and fairy tales that Tolkien would have been very familiar with) in Middle-earth. To put it in some sort of context, Gandalf is an "angel", Sauron is a "demon", and Tom is a "fairy"--a third type of celestial/spiritual being more closely associated with nature and creation. Tom, in a very real way, makes a guest appearance in LOTR (as he preexisted it in the chronology of Tolkien's creations--making him "oldest"). He is outside of creation (in the literal-literal sense), but in a strange way bound to it... much like the paradox of being "all powerful but... apathetic" and "everything but... unimportant."

Why the hell does ROP think that Galadriel suddenly has elven abilities because she's wearing the ring. She and all those elves would have sensed the evil, those are all just natural abilities of being an elf. Like yes the rings had power, but it was more to slow the decay of the natural world... not like in ROP where it seems to suck up Sauron goop from leaves or bring a tree back to life. Nenya in particular was adept at preservation, protection and concealment. Honestly that whole point with the elves going oh no we got to leave because DA TREE! I think the worst is they made Tom evil. Remember his is the eldest and all powerful. In the books he’s oblivious to the goings on of the world he’s in his own thoughts and separate. But in the show they’ve made him acutely aware of the evil and Sauron rising. This is an evil he has the power to stop. By making him aware and choosing to not do anything, what does that make him

I don't at all doubt that they delete bad reviews...but I'm also not surprised by the ratio of good to bad...because we all forget to leave reviews...we just make or watch videos. The people who have Prime need to speak up on Amazon itself, not just elsewhere on social media.

I have a beautiful theory - Tom Bombadil is the Word itself (or Language). It can do magic, but it can't defeat evil. It just is. He knows the names of every thing or creature and his poetry influences the reality. Probably, Tom was the first being of Arda. Using him as an instrument, Eru Iluvatar created all the rest of the world) Probably not what Tolkien exactly meant... But i find this idea a good suggestion about Tom's nature, knowing how important was the Word in Christian ontology.

How to blow $1 billion. Crap writing, crap directing, crap acting, crap costuming, crap fight choreography, crap weapons handling, crap sets, crap plot, crap characters, over-reliance on CGI , throw in some non-Tolkien tokenism and total lack of understanding of the source material and Bingo, $1 billion down the drain.

I don't think I can survive watching excerpts of the Rangs of Pitifulness on your videos, it's killing me. I mean I can feel myself die on the inside as I see things like Galadriel fighting those orcs. I can't remember anything like this in my 60+ years on Earth, that is equivalent to the butchering of a loved story like the Lord of the Rings by the Rangs of Putridness. Stoors? Though you might be using it for comedic effect, Tom indeed sang a song with groping in the stanza. He meant of course "groping (for your way) in the dark if you don't hurry along". "Groping in the dark" is a very old and very well known phrase.

Didn't you know? The environment in Middle-Earth is soft as bedding. That is why the two Harfoots survived being hurled by a tornado, Elrond canmlead off a waterfall, a d Galadriel can survive a volcanic eruption.

Tom Bombadil is the embodiment of the music of creation. Though he’ll assist good people in an emergency, he’s still absolutely “above” the endless conflicts of Middle Earth. That silly, useless dervish from RoP is obviously NOT Tom.

I gave up after 20+ minutes into the very first episode of this show, but I've watched a lot of videos criticizing it and the moment they meet that Stoor (or whatever they're called) dude, I laughed so hard, there were tears😂 Then I got a look at the matriarch (or whatever) of their community😂 Do the show runners actually think we're supposed to be able to look at this show with a straight face? And be in awe of their brilliance and creative genius? Then, on top of that, they give us a Tom Bombadil who looks more like Mike Myers in the Love Guru movie😂😂😂

Bro im blacker than black, my daddy is so black he turns dark blue in the sun… I got that violet hue with dark licorice BLACK lolol… and all me and the wife see is an endless pandering of nonsense… black elves, yep that makes sense… and middle eastern not-stoors/DEI creatures… with aunt Jenima as there momma??….why are the writers low key trying to tell audience that orcs are basically oppressed black people from our world, it’s obvious af… Bruh how does Amazon think anyone let alone any black folks who enjoy LOTR fantasy would watch this hot dumpster fire. The only exception I feel could make sense logically is black dwarves… they live under ground I mean it makes sense that they will have a big chunk of their race mutating into darker skin tones over generations living in darkness??… yeah… I’m sure we would all look beyond black dwarves, it kind of makes some sense… But no… apparently this is like some alternate weird middle earth reality where the real middle earth and this horrid disaster are bleeding into each other… or that’s what the writers are trying to do… slowly bleed concepts here and there into a bucket of garbage inclusion nonsense. Disgusting 🤢
