Yeah it could have been way better but it wasn't as bad as everybody says it is... There was some really good moments throughout this show and you missed some major context while saying stuff was bad because like you said 100 times you're not a Star wars fan. This, b.o.b.f., Mando season 3, Ashoka, and skeleton crew are all pretty good and are building us towards that gap of time that's completely missing before snoke.. people didn't like the first two movies in the prequels for the longest time either until they started making actual sense of the 3 amazing movies.

The idea of "authenticity" goes back at least to Heidegger and probably a lot further than that - Plato maybe. The obsession with it here and in general is a bit shallow and a lot silly - these "celebrities make a living pretending to be someone else, the actors being only the most obvious. So who is real? Rogan? In places and at times - but he also groveled out an apology for using a particular racial slur by reference, giving in to that kind of trash shows me something by showing me nothing. I’m sure most of these celebrities are sincere in their utter triviality, but the lack of substance and the hideous vapor of their opinions is what should be rejected and deserves ridicule - just harping on "inauthenticity" shows a lack of understanding just how obnoxious these people are.

The lion king "remake" was just a trick to refresh the copyrights as a loop hole on public domain(as all other remakes of classic stories) and since that is the main motivator... story and respect of the source material goes seconds. This one, i have no idea why it was made.
