I now at 42 years old have finally gave Riot a listen a few months ago. I have been listening to Hard Rock/Heavy Metal since I was 5 years old in 1983,but never really got exposed to Riot until a few months ago. They have become one of my all time favorite bands ever these past few months. I have already bought a little over half their catalog these past few months, and I love everything that I have listened to. I love the Guy Speranza era, Rhett Forrester era, Tony Moore era, Mike DiMeo era, and Todd Michael Hall era all big time. I love all the albums that I have gotten so far big time, especially Fire Down Under, Thundersteel, and The Privilege Of Power. I agree with you that Riot should have gotten way bigger than they did. In my opinion they should be headlining arenas and stadiums all around the world. Their music is that amazing to me.

The Most Underrated American Band! I got into RIOT with Fire down Under and then Rhett came in With Restless Breed and Just Loved his Voice! It's so Cool to see and hear from the old RIOT Guard I wish the Guys from the old days could make a Tribute LP with a new singer.

You got your wish. It was initially two classic members with new members called Riot Act. Both Lou A Kouvaris and Rick Ventura started the band a few years ago, and did a few shows. Lou passed away early last year from covid which really sucks. Out of all the classic members Lou wanted to do this big time, and because of that Rick Ventura is going to carry on Riot Act which is exactly what Lou would have wanted him to do. I just hate that Lou lost his dream twice. The first time when he was let go of Riot, and now his passing before Riot Act could do a brand new album, and a proper tour of both Riot classics and new songs.

You're on the level, man - I was 18 when FDU came out and since then RIOT are a mainstay of my Metal likings; anyway, Metal keeps rejuvenating itself and it is quite significant and, to a certain extent, even moving, for middle-aged metalheads that a younger generation are following a band like Riot, these days. This ain't no patronising babble, just glee for knowing Metal goes on.

when i listened to RIOT in my youth i felt like i had something special, because not every tom dick or harry even knew who riot was,and that was o.k. i felt moved by RIOT,compelled to rock, bang my head and follow what Mark did. i play a black les paul custom,it was my first guitar and i still play a black les paul custom. i play marshall amplifiers, like Mark,i love fast heavy rock, metal etc and i feel like he taught me,guided me in what i play and who i like and sound like.

First exposure to RIOT was hearing HOT FOR LOVE on WNHU here in Connecticut on Heavy Metal night. I had my cassette tape recording. Comes to find out my buddy Angelo had just bought NARITA. I became an instant fan. The rawness of Mark’s Les Paul & Guy’s high pitched growl sold me. My band at the time was just forming 1981 & we used to cover ROAD RACIN’ after it was included on Castle Donnington record. Finally saw them at Hartford Civic Center warming up for RUSH. The rest is history.

Ed Aborn. I'm from the Tampa, FL area. After writing to the band in 79 they actually called me back and invited to have me and a friend meet them while opening up for Black Sabbath when they played here in the area. It was my first time ever backstage at a show and I still have my framed copy of Narita hanging in my studio. While visiting my father one summer in New Jersey they also invited me to come into the city and check out Green Street Recording. While I was there they gave me an import copy of Fire Down Under since it hadn't come out in the US yet and actually gave me the big chrome bass drum seen on the back of Narita. I was, and still am, a drummer. Needless to say, for a 15 year-old metal fan it was an amazing experience. I was and continue to be a huge supporter of the band including Riot V.

It's good to see the band still carrying on, but for me, no Mark, no Riot. He was the heart and soul of this band.

anyone know if there's more footage and audio from 29:05 out there. only footage of 70's Riot I could find was a promo video they did in 1977 with scenes from godzilla spliced in. would love to see more of that concert if it exists anywhere.

I used to get into a Cincy club called Annie's in early 1980's. Every local band ripped off Swords & Tequila. Saw Restless Breed tour and was shocked they didn't blow up.

It was great hearing Riot's first three albums referred to as 'The Big 3". Narita and Fire Down Under pretty much perfect, and Rock City having 3 or 4 rawkers that I love. So very little has been reported about Riot, watching this Documentary was just excellent.

I always thought Riot was one of the great late 70s early 80s bands that would have been bigger had not MTV steamrollered over so many other talented bands.
