the lifeguards in this video are underrated. Everyone's always talking about Maxi, Jethro, Hoppo,... They literally all have the same job and they're all good at it. Mad respect for all the lifeguards.
@purplekitten39714 жыл бұрын
They should teach school kids how to get out of rips. Where I live, school kids get swimming lessons via their school from age 7-11 and I believe that as part of teaching children how to swim, they should be taught practical skills in the sea because one day it could save their or someone else’s life.

You swim parallel to the shore right?
@kevitamaster-brewkombucha54724 жыл бұрын
That would be amazing! Living in Maryland it’s not that concerning about big waves but we are surrounded by water. If a person was to go in the water or fall off a boat it’s important to know how to swim!💪🏼💕

Two years ago I went to France with my family and some family friends. On our second day we went to the beach. My sister and her friends sprinted off immediately into the sea so me, my friend and our dads ran in after them. We got caught in a rip. We were all split up I was with my friend. We stuck for about 15 minutes before the lifeguards rescued us. The beach is never very busy but there’s enough people for there to be lifeguards. They rescued us in a inflatable speed boat. My sister was very shocked when we went up to the tower. They were most worried about her. I was ok just very shocked. They called an ambulance for my sister as she was a bit hyperthermic (I’m not sure if that’s the right word). My dad was also badly effected. He was in a lot of shock and couldn’t even remember his birthday. Luckily they were ok but it was definitely scary. I learnt a valuable lesson that day, don’t trust the sea. I’m sorry this was so long 😅

I have some decently big beaches around me and they don't even have lifeguards. But for some reason they have lifeguards at the very tiny beach with no waves at all. I almost drowned twice and I witnessed a very tiny venerable toddler almost drown because she was in a donut floaty and it flipped upside down from a wave.

Right now, I would love to learn how to swim, but it's impossible due to my condition at the moment. GREAT JOB to all those lifeguards doing their absolutely best and more!
