I'm 60, same age as the great footballer. There was no greater joy than to watch Maradona play even if he didn't score in the game. After he retired I also retired from watching football. As an argentine, I would like to thank you for the time and words dedicated to our national Hero. Undisputed. Unmatched. I am 41 and I was in my grandparents house in 1986 and I cannot tell you how many times I would run around the garden dribbling through poles and flower beds and stuff I’d put in the garden trying to replicate that 2nd goal against England. I am devastated and to see this segment just a couple of hours from his passing, brings me tears of brotherly respect. Again, thank you and God Speed.

Still remember it the day I met & shook hands with Maradona:Thirty years ago I was living & working in the former Soviet Union and to get my football fix, couple of my colleagues at the All Union Radio Station(sadly no more) in Moscow starting taking me with them to watch Spartak Moscow games.7th November 1990 which was Revolution Day Spartak were playing that evening against Napoli with Maradona,q/f,2nd leg(1st leg 0-0) in the old style European Cup at the Lenin Stadium now the Luzhniki.Due to all the country's political & social turmoil that was going on the stadium with a ring of Red Army troops around it was packed with approx 75k people and the atmosphere was electric.Bitterly cold(-20),no food & hot drink outlets scattered around, the only thing that kept you warm were swigs of vodka from bottles that were being passed around.About 30mins into the game it started snowing so thick you couldn't see what was going on,on the @t had to rely on people near the touchline shouting a running commentary to the rest of us in the stands It lasted til half time then cleared away.Half way through the 2nd half Maradona came on as he was a sub.Full time 0-0 so extra time,30 mins later still 0-0 so penalties.Maradona missed his, ballooned it over the bar,Spartak went through to the @t we had our Radio station press passes with us,we got let through by security & managed to find our way to the stadium's dressing @t two pals went off to see if they could get interviews with any Spartak player but told me to wait there in a corridor so there I was minding my own business whilst people were dashing by.I'd taken my coat off and on top of a chunky sweater I was wearing my Sheff Utd shirt. The door behind me opened,I turned around and there he was, standing in front of me, Diego Maradona in a trackie with two minders either side of him.He saw me and the shirt ,recognised it(some of you may know why)smiled, touched it,shook my hand and then he was gone. That moment lasted a second or two but the memory is still fresh and clear in my mind after all these years RIP Diego Armando Maradona ps the UK premiere of the Maradona documentary was held in Sheffield

People needs to read about him. Watch him Why he is regarded as the GOAT outside of stats. What he did for Argentina, how never has there been a World cup such dominated by one man and won for his nation. World stage. Against England - backstory of the Falklands '82. Put him out of Arg team and Napoli - ponder if they would have won at all. It was his great leadership, charisma, his desire and guidance - that's what seperates him from Messi/other players. How can you quantify such impact for a nation/ city that was looked down upon over longevity in great teams or consistency over long years? Different gravy. Then, what he did with Napoli. Magical stuff - 2 Serie A title with gap in between so not a one-off like Leicester. In the 80's - probably the best league in the world at that time. They still haven't won it since he's left Italy. Then what you will see at the end and understand why this man was worshiped like a God. Treated like one. The greatest of all times - my father swears he's never seen a better player.
