The story is that when she was 19, she met the father of her baby/fetus, a young man with piercing blue eyes, and fell hard for him, but he fell for another woman. That’s when she discovered her “gift” for feeling others’ sadness and went on to join a convent and become a nun. Either she didn’t realize she was pregnant, or she did and had a normal miscarriage instead of one where the uterus retains the unborn baby/fetus. She went on to lead a normal life as a nun, until her symptoms began in menopause. Nothing scandalous happened. No immaculate conception either. Besides, it’s only a fictional show, made for entertainment.

I would like to argue that stone babies are real, but rare, because of the availability of modern medicine. the story itself is entertaining and interesting

I haven't seen the full episode, but something seems off when the nun tells the doctors that she's ready for the surgery. She seems strangely overjoyed and has tears in her eyes.

Part of me thinks she wants to at least hold or see her baby at least once, and/or get the pain over with. But I’m leaning toward the former.

Just because a person smiles doesn't mean they're overjoyed. She lost her child. She could be in disbelief or even want to put on a brave face. You don't know what your response is going to be until it happens to you.
