I do wish Banger had some kind of editorial on what the grades scale actually is. Like magazines used to. As it stands, Banger TV - the publisher if you will - says both that 5/5 means perfection, and no album is perfect. But it also several times a year says some album or other is 5/5. You could say the scale is personal to the reviewer, but then what is Banger except for some kind of channel for the promotion of individuals (why even choose to have a Banger style)? You could also of course say who cares, it’s not life and death. And sure, but that goes both ways. If I was to make the case for the 5/5 it’s basically that it’s pointless to have a grade on a scale that, by design, can’t be used. If perfect can’t exist, remove it off the scale (have it be 6/5, or whatever), and use the whole scale. Then 5/5 would make sense as “excellent”, “superior”, “groundbreaking”, or any other number of adjectives that would put the score in context, but that we’d have to watch the review to get. As it stands, in some Banger reviewers videos 5/5 means 5/5, and in others 4,5/5 means 5/5, and we the viewers just have to learn to make the difference. That said, love the channel, love the reviewers, keep going for twenty more years!

I tend to watch the reviews and listen to what is said about the album. If it sounds like I would like it, then I will listen to it. The number the reviewer gives doesn't matter too much.
