Excellent review, but I’m about done with hybrid carpet bag reviews. There are a ton of great bags out there. What I’m looking for is bag comparisons within a bag category. Not trying to be a troll. Just looking for something a little different. BTW, don’t know of anyone who does a better job of reviewing bags.

Mike which do you favor more to play with ? The ripper or wintertides?

I like the Wintertides a little better. They have a slightly slower and more controllable slow side and they are floppier.

I always enjoy your reviews. But there's one company who's bags that I actually loved to use that I will no longer put my money into and that's BG. They did a fake giveaway on FB where 2 people from his hometown won and those 2 people are in a relationship. If companies want to really thank their fans they should probably do real contests for them. I'll be going through your reviews to find a different company I enjoy. Thank you for all you do.

Hey Mike! Interesting to hear that you say this is the closest bag to the Viper-R as I know you love the Swagbags Chaos as a Viper-R alternative as well. I have the chaos, but am still debating getting a set of R's or potentially these if they replicate the R identically. Between the Chaos and the Ripper, which do you prefer?

I prefer the Chaos. I prefer the Chaos over the Viper R. When I said the Ripper is the closest, I'm referring to the larger, fuller feeling bag. The Chaos is a medium template bag. The Ripper is cliser in template and fullness to the Viper R than the Chaos.

No. The Creatures are a herringbone carpet bag. These Rippers have a hybrid slow side. These Rippers have the same slow side as the Cornhole Coastal Fear.

Hey Mike, would you prefer the Chaos over the ripper. I’m trying to find a really good ACL bag. Unfortunately can’t use the coyotes and the Marilyn’s at ACL events. As always, your content is amazing!

They are very similar. If I had to choose one, it would be the Chaos. Neither one of them are like the Coyote or Marilyn bags. The Chaos and Rippers are more like a Viper-R.

AAR hasn't released their 2025 bags yet. The 2025 ACL season doesn't start until October. I'm sure they will have bags on their site sometime soon.

Cracks me up everyone hating on ultra when the prices are pretty much same even cheaper then some now a days everyone has gone up brotherhood went up like $15 to $95 this year swag bags whom I’m a big fan of they’re up to $85 now you got Buffalo boards at $125 killshots at $115-$140 and let’s not forget the biggest rip offs of all cornhole scenario at a ridiculous price and they don’t even make em from what I’ve heard you can go on ultra and there’s plenty of bags still in stock for $95 not as bad as people think is all I’m saying

Ultra has bags on their site right now for $135. After shipping and taxes, the total price is $159. That's not far off of the $165 for Cornhole Scenario bags shipped. Why do you think that Cornhole Scenario is the biggest rip off with ridiculous prices but Ultra isn't? The $95 price is the sale price for most of those bags. That's not the retail price. Cornhole Scenario offers sale prices sometimes too. In my opinion, both companies are ripping off customers with their ridiculous pricing.

Depends on the color cuz every bag I saw on there had at least one for $95. Is expensive indeed but just about every bag is around that now a days unfortunately there are still some good ones in the 70s and 80s but not many at least acl stamped anyway and unfortunately that’s all I use cuz only have acl regionals where I am. It’s all ultra pretty much here the wife and I are 2 of the very few that throw something else in tournaments all depends on boards for us we throw anything from black waters but usually fallout x meltdowns or hustler x but I do love the viper r and if I can get em for 95 I’ll take it

Good thing I’m about done trying every bag under the sun then got one more to try again. Oh and got seva slasher today love it thanks and new fracture is me and the wife’s favorite fast bag so just gotta try typhoon with new fill cuz I loved the feel of that bag but it just didn’t play well for me always hung on the hole so after your pro x and fracture review with new fill figured I’d give ‘‘em another shot but I’m pretty much a hybrid carpet thrower now I love the kaboom, fury, meltdown, howler z, viper r, shadow x they don’t hang on the hole like the sure fire variants.

The only one that I can think of is the 724 Project 5. If you are willing to go with one of the other similar hybrid carpets then you can look at the Brotherhood Guardian, Southwest Jefe, or Costello X.

Break in method?

Use whatever method you like. I did a video comparing break in methods and I found that they all work.

Anybody else having a hard time braking this thing in? I have done nothing to it, just throwing. After about 3 weeks it still feels stiff

It takes a long time to break bags in by just throwing them. I would recommend trying one of the break in products if you want to speed up the process. I use Toss Sauce to break in all my bags.
