Falcon BMS 4.33: Mavericks

I found a way to avoid the avionic faults at the handoff: 1. Lock something in your TGP with TMS UP. (must be IR POINT and not IR AREA) 2. Only then Uncage your Maveric and lock the same target. (Handoff isn't activated when the agm65 is caged, therefore it cannot fail) 3. Press the BSGT on the WPN page after you ensured you've locked the same thing. 4. Switch through your pylons with MSL STEP and do steps 2 and 3 for every pylon which carries mavericks. 5. leave AG-Mode (so all locks will be canceled) the next time you will lock something with your TGP and your WPN Page is also selected, handoff will work correctly. Just lock a tank or something with your TGP and make sure the cross on your WPN Page is NOT flashing! (you must be in the correct angle to the target, horizontally and vertically. Of course you must be in range, too). Now you can press pickle.. (you don't have to press TMS UP on your WPN page again when you've done everything right.) I think step 2 works also when the missiles are uncaged already. Simply just don't select your WPN page when you lock something in your TGP. Switch to your WPN Page after that(must be on the other MFD, because your TPG and WPN page must be active at the same time) and proceed with step 3. Be advised that if you use your FCR or TGP and slew it (and if you are not in SNOW PLOW MODE), your current waypoint will be at this position now! If you want to cancel it you have to press OSB#9 or OSB#10 (not sure at the moment). sorry if i have explained something, you might have also explained in your video. I didn't watch the complete thing right now.

2:13 Not for each maverick you have but for each launcher you have. So if you have 2 triple launchers you will have 6 mavericks but you will only need to boresight twice. You can select any maverick from particular launcher to use for boresight procedure.

Thanks a lot for your video. I have an issue with my flare/ chaff releasing. I do not know why, but for some reason, I am unable to release flare when I start the game from take off. Do you have any idea to solve this issue?

Could boresighting of the mavs be done on an airborne target? I'm thinking in a multiplayer scenario that it would be easier to let your wingman fly ahead and boresight off of him (who is effectively stationary relative to you) rather than to boresight off of a ground target that is closing relative to you.

Great video :) just two questions. 1: Guessing you can't handoff and launch at targets outside of the gimbal limit of the maverick, but still within that of the TGP? 2: Is it possible to ripple with the TGP handoffs to start the target designation at longer range?

Nice video buddie! I flew a mission today, tried to drop some GBU12 using the same procedures I used in 4.32. Targeted using TGP turned my laser on.... but missed all the targets. If it's changed and became more realistic, can you make a video for us explaining? Thanks! . Muttley - 801st TFW

Solved the problem. List/O MISC we can activate laser combat mode. Without that it will not get to the lasered target. It seems to be a new realism feature in this simulator. =D

Great info for 4.33, I learned a lot from this. Quick question, any ideas on RW accuracy on this? Seems like a high workload to ripple fire some mav's.

+Damien Mullins It's accurate, and the workload isn't that high. Just uncage, designate, step, uncage, designate. Then when you're ready, pickle twice. Can be done in seconds.

what advantage does TGP handoff give you? you noted that the TGP and MAV tend to look in the same direction. why not just switch to the WPN page and lock the target?

+freqimann The TGP has a much greater resolution than the Mav seeker head and also much, much wider gimbal limits.

When you selecte3. d the TGP and put it into air to ground mode, did you do that all with your HOTAS? I'm learning F4 BMS 4.33 and I'm using DuncX profile with my Cougar but I can't figure out how you did that. I have to use my mouse to click the OBS buttons. Do you have a home cockpit by chance?

+Euclid Hallsteinn Since you have a Cougar I recommend just mapping the functions the same as in the real jet. Then you can use the BMS -1 that comes with the sim to learn the HOTAS commands.

X65F. I don't use profiles; I bind using DirectX in the sim. It's easier that way.

I may be wrong, but I believe handoff only works in PRE mode.

You mean boresighting? It's so you can locate targets using the TGP, which is higher resolution than the Maverick seeker head.

+racingtheweb Not sure which keys to use since I use a HOTAS, but you can learn in the Setup page. You can also bind them to a HOTAS thumbstick using the cursor x and y axes.

Press down the Uncage button on the throttle to prepare the Maverick for targeting and launch.
