You just missed it at 1:10 where a scene of the original (not yet ruined by George Lucas in the "updated" versions) Episode 6 is shown. Originally, Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker stood next to Yoda and Obi-Wan as an old man (which he was indeed at the time of Episode 6, when he died in Luke's arms. Lucas needlessly replaced that with Hayden Christensen showing up as the younger Anakin Skywalker... Totally useless change from the original movie.

AB I like that direction. I would have made Palpatin became an anti hero who’s helps the new Jedi fight a new enemy from the unknown regions. Have the rebels unite with the first order. Let the face an enemy that is like the reaper. Harvesting life from planets and Luke seeks our Palpatin to construct a weapon to defeat the enemy. Have Rey either being a Skywalker or a genetic clone of Anakin, them the only clone they was successfully. Have episode 9 have the Jedi and sith settle their differences to fight a common enemy. Have anakin force ghost visit palpatin to plea with him to save the galaxy. Have palpatin sacrifice himself at the end to save his empire and galaxy. A bit of fan service that would actually tie up Anakins prophecy with the entire saga. Have kylo Ren an agent sent by Luke to spy on the first order. When kylo kills Han it’s more impacting because his only doing his job to. Han must die so Kylo can find out about this new threat the empire fears.

@@KC-cb7ov I just don`t understand why not call a master on SW like Filoni to write the PLOT for the whole trilogy. Why in the HELL, in modern days, would you start a new trilogy without a PLOT plan for all 3 movies? Geez... I LOVE your idea by the way.
@philipwilliams63074 жыл бұрын
@@KC-cb7ov i had an idea very similar to yours, except it was based on how the last film should've been, building off of TFA and TLJ; basically Snoke discovers an enemy from the unknown regions so large that he needs the galaxy to help fend them off, in his eyes the darkside is the only way to defeat them so that's why he's so focused on beating the resistance so that he can bolster the first order without them getting in the way because they don't see the bigger picture... he thinks getting someone like Rey to the darkside would give them a better chance at defeating this looming threat. So when he dies in The Last Jedi, everyone is oblivious to his real plans and why the first order was actually created, because Snoke to everyone else is just an evil sith. Also the arms dealer in the last Jedi talked about how there's more grey between the good and the bad, how he supplied for both sides during the war... and yoda burnt down the tree talking about how the old ways have died, the past is in the past... basically opening up the possibility of seeing the Grey Jedi exist. So in the Rise of Skywalker, things should've started with Kylo Ren finding out what his Supreme Leader Snoke was upto, and realizing the darkside had clouded Snokes mind, that the only way to defeat this outside threat is to unite the first order with the resistance, and make a call of arms across the galaxy, so that you can still get that awesome scene of everyone showing up. Rey and Kylo become a grey Jedi duo, the balance between the lightside and the darkside, and in that balance they put their differences aside to fight together for the sake of their galaxy... and in the end bring a new Jedi order which isn't flawed like the old, and isn't flawed like the sith either, they use both sides. And of course this all means that there's more fighting scenes, a common enemy they face, a way to make the last Jedi actually feel like it didn't fuck everything up unlike it still does... and it doesn't undo all the progress of the previous 8 films. Every movie and character would have importance in the film, each film building off the next... the movie we got was the safe way of trying to please fans even tho it had to fuck the lore and films that came before in order to pull it off.

I don't agree with the whole "him switching bodies" theory. In this movie he's literally a living corpse, barely alive. His pupils were nearly non-existent and his finger bones were visible. He wasn't even able to walk. (Until he got healed, of course.) If he were to switch bodies, why would he choose an old damaged one? Why not make a completely new one? My point is, he has obviously been through alot, hinting that he's still the original Palpatine. Having barely survived being thrown through a tube in the death star, probably floating in space for all we know, until his little cult found his body and helped bring him back to life.

They should have just made Snoke Plageus former master who has been lurking in the corner of the galaxy for when the force awakens. That scar on Snoke should have been a scar from a younger Yoda or after Snoke kills his master. That would have been perfect for a spin off for Yoda, which would gross so much money regardless. Emperor Palpatine should have been nothing other than just a notable sith who formed the empire and oppression of the entire galaxy. Meanwhile Snoke should have been the more of an Old Republic time sith, who has preserved himself watching from the corner of the galaxy the whole time, until Rey is sensed at birth. Rey should have been the Jesus of the force matching his power and overcoming him, sacrificing herself. Leaving Ben Solo and preserving Skywalker blood. With him had being once on the dark side of the force it would put depth to him, being reformed just as his grandfather was before dying. Ben Solo being this experienced would have been careful with his students and start an academy in the honor of Luke.

In fact, not sure why you needed to go any further than Dark Empire which gave you all you needed: clone technology and some mumbo-jumbo ritual (if I remember correctly). Point being, you shouldn't have to need all that OR a Google search to find out. It should be reasonably understandable without all that. @@doctornico1759 Google, wookiepedia, youtube, etc are all ginormous dumping grounds, just like the internet itself. There are dozens of conflicting theories on everything, and someone who doesn't know these things, and doesn't see a comment like yours (buried among many one a video that's buried among many) won't even know what they're missing. The point is, the people putting out the movies themselves, advertise the movie in trailers that preview the movie. They never use that same medium to inform you, "Continuing the events of the novel trilogy and the storyline told in gaming series ." So unless you're in the secret club on this stuff, you don't know there's a backstory you are missing that will be vital to the plot. Also, a movie audience shouldn't be assumed to be a multi-media audience. The film franchise started in the late 1970s and that audience shouldn't be assumed to be consumers of cartoons, comics and video games. I flipped through a couple of the cartoons on TV and found them so hard to watch (as an adult) that I couldn't even fathom them being considered part of the movie continuity. "Oh, Rey is in this predicament because of what that one cartoon character did and also something that was a video segment of some game and a couple of these comic book panels and that other guy's novel?" Yeah, that's the theater experience I crave...

I feel like this trilogy isn't written as a whole like the OT. Yes, there might be some slight changes from George's original plan, but atleast he wrote all three movies at once. The sequels instead, it feels like it just adapts to what the last writer did. Which I think they decided to bring back Palps cause they killed off Snoke in TLJ. That just cheapens the death of Darth Vader imo.

Finn wanted to tell Rey that he was Force Sensitive. It teased on this throughout the movie
@GunterJPN4 жыл бұрын
Not only that, but as he told Poe, he knew “what she was up against.” He knew she was a Palpatine. He said that Leia did too, and Luke tells Rey that Leia knew Rey was a Palpatine. Finn thought they were dying, so he thought he should let her know the truth about herself. And maybe in that realization, and of how strong she was in the Force, she may have been able to get them out of there.
@obiwankenobi17074 жыл бұрын
GunterJPN JJ Abrams confirmed it to be that he was going to tell her he was force sensitive
@GunterJPN4 жыл бұрын
I know. But what that MEANS is that he knows her identity. He’s not JUST telling her he’s Force-sensitive in what he thinks are his last breaths. He knows her bloodline BECAUSE he’s Force-sensitive , so he was hoping she could save them. It makes no sense to say, “I’m Force-sensitive!” and then die. There’s a REASON he’s telling her.
@obiwankenobi17074 жыл бұрын
GunterJPN Finn hadn’t been trained in the force enough to gain this knowledge. The only reason that Luke and Leia knew was because they were strong enough in the force to have dreams and read Rey’s mind
@GunterJPN4 жыл бұрын
He had a hunch/feeling (I forget how he describes it to Jannah). But this is the reason why he tells Poe, “You have no idea what she’s up against.” And when Poe asks, “And you do?” He says, “Yeah. I do. And so does Leia.” The big reveal of what Leia knows about Rey is her identity. She knows she is a Palpatine. And so does Finn.

Pretty sure you're close to the mark with this theory. The whole Exegol thing really helped in hinting at the way he returned, that Dark Side monolith/construct/building looks very, very old and the technology and Sith Alchemy things we see may be that old as well. The whole Exogal theme is very ancient, dark, cold and evil. I'd love to see it tied into a future project, something Old Republic maybe.

TLDR: Palpatine returns via Deus Ex Machina, and this video is contrived fanfic theory. 1) uh, no, there is no reason at all to assume that Palpatine could do what his master could. Proven by the fact he never taught Anakin any of it and even admits to now Darth Vader that he's never done it. It was all just part of his continued manipulation of Anakin's perception of the Jedi. 2) Qui Gon Jinn didn't make a discernment of living verses cosmic. That's your assumption. He was telling Obi Wan to simply not let his mind wander at the expense of the now, when they had a job to do. 3) Yoda explains to Luke that the force is essentially the connective web of life in all things and that our true selves exist on a spiritual plane of existence. So no, there is one force in the movies, and there is no suggestion of any other kind. 4) Comic, comic, comic, comic....so not in the movies so again, its still a movie plot hole. 5) Jakku is a retcon of a sUpER SeCRet IQ 5000 pLaN because the current lore and overall plot of Disney Star Wars is as deep and compelling as a puddle of pee and they wrote themselves into a plothole. 6) Its never stated that Palpatine steals the "living" force. There is only one force. Not even the terrible book plot says there is (which it would have to be so in order for it to fit with the movie). JJ Abrams wanted Palpatine back, so he "mystery box" made it happen hoping maybe someone would write a book later to fill out the galaxy sized plot hole like the other movies.

Could there be a possibility that prior to his arrival at the Death Star 2, Palpatine sensed the possibility that the DS2 would be destroyed, and sent a clone to take his place? Perhaps the Palpatine we saw die in RotJ was simply a clone? Perhaps he controlled that clone as a proxy, like he did with Snokes. It's an interesting theory to ponder, anyway. :)

Awesome video! The movie didn’t have to explain every single aspect. This is part of a 9 chapter story, and you don’t always have re-explain all the other chapters at the end. Star Wars has always left things to our imagination as fans, so it’s not completely fair that the movie is being criticized for not explaining everything. It’s sad to see some many lack imagination these days. That’s why I’m not surprised the fans like it more than the critics.

That information about the 'sith fanboy' is, in fact, very crucial to Palpatine's return. But why did they waste this on a book? Most fans (or moviegoers in general) just watch the movies. I would’ve liked to see the movie end slightly differently. Instead of Kylo being able to “resurrect” Rey, he fails to live up to Vader’s legacy and is unable to save someone he loves. The movie ends with the real last Skywalker (Kylo) teaching young padawans in a Jedi council like environment.

Speaking as a fiction author, I’ll say that from a narrative perspective, explaining all of this would have slowed down pace of the story. Perhaps a companion novel could explain some of this; but in its visual form, it is only relevant that Palpatine returned through some form of evil. This could be a combination of supernatural elements and scientific; and I believe J.J. Abrams put enough visual clues together, for the viewer to work out the basics.

@seifalah06264 жыл бұрын
This is certainly a feasible theory. However, I believe it has more to do with his ability to cheat death. He was killed (for the most part) in Return of the Jedi. However he managed to survive (barely alive but somewhat alive none the less) and was brought to exigal by his followers (or it could be one of his guards. He still had followers and minions besides Vadar). There he was a weakened spirit living off the dark side of the force. However through that machine and with the help of his followers (as we saw on Exigal he wasnt alone) he created Snoke using the dark side of the force. He used Snoke as a pawn to turn and manipulate Ben Solo thus turning him to the dark side as well and (hopefully) preventing the force dyad from forming. However, in order for him to regain a physical form he had to undergo the dark ritual of corrupting another individual. That's why he lured in Rey. However, once he regained a physical form he became human and vulnerable which was why the dyad had weakened him and why Rey was able to kill him with his own lightning once and for all. I think that makes a lot more sense rather than it being a completely lost plot hole
