I'm sad for Ner'zhul's story. Back in old lore Ner'zhul was a very dramatic character, he thought that he was doing good for orcs and when he had found out that he was tricked, he still gone deeper because it was too late to turn back. Then he found out the way to escape to other worlds he still wanted good for orcs. Then tricked again, he was tortured for years and used as a weapon Lich King. He used Arthas to complete his job of summoning Archimonde to Azeroth. And was still betrayed by Kil'jaeden who tried to use Ilidan to destroy the frozen throne. And when finally he was one with Arthas and doing well at last. He was betrayed the last time and Arthas killed his soul.... #OldNer'zhuldidnothingwrong :(

Not sure if I dig the whole revamp to Rise of the Horde story. Ner'Zhul changes I dislike the most and it feels like it deludes his role as a beloved villain. I think the sacrifice of many Draenei is another major dislike. A small Draenei girl being slit made Durotan to finally stand up and say no. Him and his clan fighting against the other Horde clans to reach and save the Draenei girl was such a pivotal and defining moment for Durotan character.... removing it is a shame.

Actually, since the Rise of the Horde was sorta written from Thrall's persective, it can be explained that since he simply could not possibly know of all those things, especially since it was said that because of the bloodlust and Blood of Mannoroth many orcs that were present during certain events couldn't recall everything.

I truly enjoyed Ner'Zhul before, and even more of his backstory as a ambitious Shaman being manipulated by forces beyond his understanding playing on his darkest desires. In this new lore, it makes Ner'Zhul less ambitious, and more of a victim

I really like the line of Sethe's curse -> red pox -> red mist. It makes sense when you compare Broken with the Outcast arakkoa. Both of them are cut off from the Light and have their bodies weakened and mutated. I've wondered ever since WoD beta if there was a connection, so I'm glad there is one! And I hope Reshad survived Kargath's attack. I like to think he's part of the arakkoa in Shattrath now. Now for a non-arakkoa comment :p I do think it was kind of a missed opportunity to just have K'ara be used to make the Black Temple and nothing else.

Moroes' story doesn't end there. He drops an item that starts a quest in Return to Karazhan and in that quest you gather certain items for a ritual and Moroes' spirit reveals himself and tells you that while he has no longer has control over his body, you have freed his spirit and he will now help you fight the Legion as a class order follower. He even brings some of his ghostly friends. My thoughts on Med'an: He could be a great character if he had less power. I think the issue most people had with him was that he was too powerful which is totally reasonable. If he was just a simple Shaman or Mage he could be an interesting character, someone who belongs with no race but with several at once, trying to make up for the misdeeds of his parents. Speaking of which Garona is still alive and kicking so he could reunite with her assuming he's been away in parts unknown doing other things all this time.

It is interesting to see how the orcs get currupted. Guldan has shaman tendencies, and then turns to the fel. That reminds me of Mediv being a mage and then turning to fel. There is also Garona, Durotan and Llane. It really reminds me of the Warcraft movie.

Since there's no option to add subtitles, I assume you add them yourself? I wanted to say thank you for doing that! It helps me a lot as I have auditory processing issues, and even if their not being 100% accurate bothers me occasionally I'm really glad they're there as most youtubers either don't have subs on their videos or leave it up to the community to provide them (which is actually sometimes better than the creators providing them if they have a large following, but can lead to subtitle-less videos...) Anyway, thank you!

Why don't people get it? The old novels are still cannon (for the most part), but they are written from someones prospective. Chronicles are trying to be as accurate as possible. Think of it as historical novel X chronicle.

Why do the orcs in WoD, call it Draenor. They even shouted "For Draenor" at various points! That's like some random alien race crashing in earth, and we all start calling it something like Xder'thz. What did the orcs call their home planet before the draenei?

Removed Garona's connection to Maraad and explains why he never gave a crap about her during WoD, no mention of a romance with Medivh and no pregnancy, mind control was removed long before the events of the comics now so the beginning of Med'an's arc can't even begin properly anymore. I think he's officially been retconned now. One thing that does bother me is that in-game it's stated that Garona's daggers are what controlled her mind so now that fairly new bit of lore that was introduced in Legion has been retconned as well. Lore is becoming way too complicated regarding what's canon and what isn't if we're retconning stuff within months now.

So major changes: the war with the draenei was started because the elements abandoned them not the other way around and the ogres never joined the horde and fought the draenei, they were wiped out after the draenei.

How to take a decent story and make it way worse? Just throw in some retcons to the pot. BAM!! I feel like a member of the Bronze Dragonflight at times when it comes to the WoW lore. Able to see all the different timeways that lead to all the different realities, but need to concentrate so I can remember which one we are currently in at the moment. (before Blizzard decides to retcon it all... again)

Hey, Nobbel! Do you think that the mention of Gavinrad the Dire in the first war, him being the second in command to Lothar, could mean that in the first Warcraft game we play as him? I think it is confirmed, that the horde player is Orgrimm Doomhammer, as he rises to power and becomes Warchief, and the Human player should be Lothar, but there is a mission to the Deadmines, where we have to rescue him, so we can't be him. Gavinrad would fit that role, dont you think?

There's a version of Garona that travels through time. I don't even know whether it's traveling forward or back, but I believe adult Garona came from the future? Time traveling in Warcraft (Broxxigar aside, because Knaack's novels aren't canon) is, I think, not clearly defined

one thing that i am confused about with this new lore and overall chronicles is the balance of elements (light/fel/void... ect) lets focus right now on the three main ones that conflict revolves around which is light/fel/void. Light is used by the good guys and Narru and their main enemy is the Void. The Void is used by the old gods and void lords and their main enemy is the Narru. Now comes Fel which is used by the Legion mostly and their enemy is both the Light and the Void. so from this trinity relationship why do we see and read in the new lore that "Kil'jaeden" allowed his followers (or in this case the shadow council) to play with the void? isn't it established that the grand crusade that "Sargares" and his burning legion main goal is to destroy all of the universe so that mainly the void lords don't come to be? i mean technically we can assume that "Sargares" hates the void more than the light. so How come does he allow his subordinates (in proxy through Kil'Jaeden) to ally and study and use the void? This is something that is confusing me and i don't understand why... If we can also assume that the "Grand Destiny" that Sargares showed Kiljaeden & Archimonde is a battle against the void lords and that is their true purpose then why are they so focused and getting bothered with running after some exiles? shouldn't they be focusing on destroying worlds that are corrupted by the void? To all Naruto fans out there... to me it feels like Kiljaeden is Naruto and Velen is Sasuke and the same thing that happened in the anime has happened in Warcraft where Naruto is running after Sasuke for leaving... Kiljaeden is running after Velen for running away... Naruto wanted to bring Sasuke back and smack some sense into him... Kiljaeden is kinda doing the same thing and i'm calling it from now.... Velen will join his brother Kiljaeden again one day just like how Naruto and Sasuke came back together.

in the broken isles theres a spot where the legion is enslaving the void including a small very small part of a void lord so it seems the Sargares allows for subjection of the void also were most likey killing kil'jaeden at the end of 7.2 so i don't think thats going to happan as much as kil'jeaden wants it to.

Abdullah Omari Void magic still has it uses as long as you're not actively involving the Old Gods I don't see why you wouldn't make use of it. Also the legion have been subjugating countless worlds the majority of which likely don't have world souls for the void lords to hijack anyway.

Something similar I never understood is why void lords are allowed in the ranks of the legion. Sargeras' whole story is that he hates and is scared of the Void Lords, yeah? Then why, pray tell, did he give them and the various creatures of the void a place in his army? It's especially odd when you realize the void lords are assumably part of the higher echelons of the Legion. As in, they could be given planets. Planets that could, say, become a planet wide militia. Planets that could be important strongholds of the Legion. Planets that could rebel. But, Y'know, just food for thought.

It can't actually. In Chronicles 2 Garona never got pregnant by Medivh before he died. There wasn't even a mention of a romance. Neither was there a mention of her being Maraad's niece. He's non-canon now or at the very least when he shows up he'll be so different we wouldn't even be able to call him Med'an. Hell, he wouldn't even be called Med'an anymore since Medivh isn't his father.
