There is a subset of young men out there that are mentally, emotionally and spiritually lost and are desperate for a leader to show them a way out of the existential rut that their life has become. Guys like Tate prey on these insecurities and occasionally will hit upon a grain of truth; all the more to convince these downtrodden youngsters that they have no other option to become content. In fairness, I can say from personal experience that society at large tends to not only push aside certain men of a certain age/income/mindset, but will also deceptively saddle them with being responsible for socio-political ills and events (society needs scapegoats, and young men fit virtually every 'bad guy' role convenient to any given situation). Inevitably this causes a victim mentality in young men and leads to depression and a host of other problems. I do wish this issue could have more serious consideration, but there seems to be a dismissive attitude regarding it.

As a young man who recently found himself deep in the Andrew Tate rabbit hole, I would like to share that, for me, I was first drawn to him because I saw that those parts of myself which I had deemed ugly and bad could actually be powerful and advantageous. Maybe the reason why he is gaining so much traction is because so many young men have been told in some way that they should feel shame for certain things. And this was a way to not only acknowledge and accept those traits, but in fact celebrate them. Now I see that this is not the way for me, personally. It felt like I was pushing, striving and resisting my way through life as if it was all one big game or competition. Hopefully the young folks out there involved in his content will also see that there's a middle ground, as with everything in life. A way that is much healthier and will lead to more happiness.

I'd never heard of this man nor most of the people you study, but I've heard the term alpha male and the zillions of labels people have developed in the past 20 years. I like that you started off by a clear, succinct definition/description of what you mean by "alpha male". All these topics deserve a larger, balanced study and discussion, which I rarely hear anywhere, because it seems most people come with opinions and conclusions before they start: It seems most people want to move to radicalizing people or advocacy, rather than truly understanding humans first.

Just because some of these species are primates and, therefore, our distant kin does not mean that the term is in any way relevant to human beings. The self-absorbed, conceited kind of man who styles himself as an "alpha" is likely to be very unappealing to most women, who would find even 5 minutes in his company extremely tedious. I confess I wasn't expecting any wisdom to come out of anything surrounding the subject in question. Being proven wrong is the best! The best part was describing it as a "limited and distorted view." The accuracy at this point was crucial, ties everything together. The danger in this is that it normalizes the behavior. Reminds me of when YT suggestions delivered me to the MGTOW and Red Pill movement. I was shocked that men are being trained, to emulate this behavior. This type seems incredibly insecure and makes me wonder if there are other deficiencies I do not see...ie mental health, and personality defects. I know many males who acquire weapons for this reason. Since learning of this my conversations of men with my nieces/friends has changed. I've seen videos of men making it a sport to get a woman's #, sexualize her to their followers, and report what they were able to get her to do. All from the point of his accomplishments, and conquests. Those types are not doing anything but racking up numbers. They are seldom concerned about STDs or pregnancy and practice their various roles such as good guy, bad boy, church goer whatever it takes. what you say doesnt sound like MGTOW at all and not even like "redpilled". MGTOW men rarely want anything to do with women in a sexual or amorous way (hence the name MenGoingTheirOwnWay). "Redpill" men might be more open to amorous and sexual relationships with women but for them that woman usually has to be "wife-material" or someone who isn't "for the streets".
