Now this, THIS is how you make the title track of an album. It's everything that made me fall in love with Spiritbox in the beginning, melding with all the most incredible elements I've seen them envelop into their sound ever since. Also, the repeating note that plays on the "6th" beat of the 6/8 in this song is... Man, it's just doing something I can't explain, to the way the entire track feels when you start to notice it. Here's hoping we'll hear about it in an interview sometime and that it won't haunt me too much until then lol
@YuryVVV3 жыл бұрын
It's little details like this that can basically make the whole "feel" of the song. That's why I love Mara 1 so much, that high-pitched screeching guitar the haunts you throughout the song just takes it all the way up there, where you just wanna play it on repeat.

This might be my fav song on the album! I’m in tears. It’s been years since an album made me feel this many emotions. After my first listen front to back I give it an iconic 11/10. 👽🤘 I have a mental condition called photo-synesthesia that makes me see different colors for all 12 natural minor/major scales. It’s the reason I have perfect pitch hearing. The album art consists of several shades of blue that I see when I hear songs in scales like F# minor and Eb minor. I was lost in a trance while listening to Secret Garden, Eternal Blue, and Constance while looking at the album art. These songs especially made me reflect on my life choices the last two years. I’ve been at a low point since 2019 slowly trying to crawl my way out. All of the songs made me feel alive. Made me embrace my depression. Made me forgive myself for my mistakes. Made me want to try and better my life. Enough about me though… What this album means for the metalcore community is monumental. Since Spiritbox formed in 2017 they kept releasing EP’s and singles while cutting their teeth and carving their way through the ranks. With Eternal Blue they have cemented themselves as the next big breakout metalcore band in a decade. Courtney’s lyrics and duel melodic and brutal vocal power matched with Mike’s melodic and brutal guitar is a duality that has gifted the metal community with the most unique album of the 2020s thus far. I feel so inspired musically and artistically. When the songs are melodic it ranges from a nostalgic 2000s alternative rock vibe, and when the 8 string guitars get heavy it’s modern djenty metalcore that’s brutal. There’s even slight prog metal vibes akin to Animals as Leaders or Tesseract. Spiritbox will be headlining big arenas soon… 👽🤘 What did you guys think of the album?

@jaredbowles72692 ай бұрын
This song reminds me of a time in life dealing with severe stress and anxiety as a young engineer out of college. Stress to the point of having panic attacks that feel like heart attacks. Stress so high I developed tregeminal neuralgia. My face cheeks and arms would go tingly numb and I would think I’m having a stroke. Blood pressure dangerously through the roof. It was also a time where all life’s problems and traumas stacked up and converged during this period of my life. I was alone. I had some relationships that were broken & some events I wasn’t fully healed from. I felt helpless. I found Christ during this time in my life, and He quite literally saved me from my own damnation & suffering. I left my faith in college and thought I could do it in my own and that I deserved the glory for where I’m at. The events I experienced in my life made me question God and further doubt. I tried doing it own my own through 3 different engineering jobs not knowing what my next step would be. A year later and I’m in the best place of my life bc of Christ. If I had control, I would’ve ruined my life. This song is a reflection of those times. The lyrics “I wish my blood would slow down” breaks my heart bc I remember trying to do anything possible to cope with stress, depression, & anxiety by myself, and lead myself to the next step in my life that would be paradise. Then the lyrics “You can make my blood rush slow down” makes me think of Christ saving me from a time of my life that I would have been doomed if I kept control. I gave it to him & he revealed to me all the times I did and could further ruin my life. I am still an engineer today. I love my job. Christ also led me to a place where a vast majority of my relationships and traumas have been healed. Thank you God for today. Thank you for life. Whether you’re a believer or non-believer, there is hope.
