That "growly thing" (I honestly don't know the proper name for it either) is extremely common in rock music, and it would be awesome if it bled into more genres like how PVRIS uses it. If you're looking for more female singers who use that singing style, you can't do much better than Halestorm. Fair warning though: they're more traditional hard rock and even metal, so while my ears can't understand why anyone would dislike them your mileage may still vary.

explain the story line between the songs and albums? tbh I loved and bummed buying so much content from them on the first album. this song as an opener to the album is more of a "b side from the first album" also the art direction in this album it looks so pretentious than anything else.

She was such a sweetheart and from then on, I've been a huge fan! They are coming to the venue I first saw them in this October but this time, they are the main act. Crazy to see how so much has changed these past years and I've never been more proud of them.

Anyone else think Lynn's voice sounds deeper? Sort of more richer? I can't explain it but I'm digging it
@LittlePhoenix1007 жыл бұрын
Summer Storm yeah, I think it's cause she sings lower in her throat. Most singers use like their mid range which is like towards the middle of your throat but Lynn uses her lower range which comes from the bottom. She's probably always sang like this, but the growls covered it up before so we never noticed. She's very talented.
@SummerStorm7 жыл бұрын
Ta ra I can see what you mean, I thought that after they released You And I... and I could tell her voice started changing. I think it might of been because she used to not warm up before singing so maybe the touring from the White Noise era tired out her voice a lot

I've just discovered PVRIS, and already I'm astounded by the change in vocals between the first and second album. She sounds young in the first album, but her voice sounds more seasoned in the second, it's like she finally found her range and where everything came together. I've heard some songs from the EP and now it's like they are getting bolder with the music.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about symbolism and content of the video. But maybe everyone is just still freaking out about new Pvris. I mean I know I still am.
@ryans67417 жыл бұрын
Personally, I think the video has a lot of overtones about abuse and guilt and blame. It's hard to tell if Lynn is stuck feeling guilt for something she did or if she's feeling guilt for something she DIDN'T do but thinks is her fault. It's hard to say. It's also obviously hard to tell how much of the symbolism is drawn from personal experience or how literal some of it is intended to be; it could just after all be random symbols for anger and guilt.
@youngmosh7 жыл бұрын
Noisedeath Productions i made a comment earlier about some of the symbolism if you're interested
@lenaburch65667 жыл бұрын
Noisedeath Productions could also be they're using the album to tell a story. Like, they're maybe not necessarily writing about personal events they've experienced but there's a narrative they wanna tell and they're gonna tell it over the course of the album. I loved it when Panic did it with one of their newer albums and the album Kezia by Protest the Hero did it too.
@lizardgreen21217 жыл бұрын
Noisedeath Productions if you look into her relationship with her ex Alexa San roman you can see where she's getting her lyrics. they go back and forth with each other on songs and symbolism. it was her 1st serious relationship and it ended when she chose her band over alexa.
@ryans67417 жыл бұрын
lizardgreen2121 yeah... I used to follow her and her band Love, Robot back when it was still around. I suppose that a lot of the symbolism here has its roots in that relationship. I kind of assumed it was as related, but the question for me was "how?".
