Rising Storm 2: Vietnam Multiplayer Campaign Cutscenes

I made these - we were super rushed on time and I put them all together in After Effects using footage and some screenshots from the game. I would loved to have gone for the full RS1 treatment for the campaign endings, but we just didn't have the budget for it. This was the last piece of work I did at Antimatter, for whatever that might be worth. Thanks for the comments!

@@Kudo.- It wouldn't be hard at all, there's tons of footage and pictures available of the Vietnam War in multiple contexts especially since it was considered the first televised war. A lot of time would just have been required to compile it all and then edit the photos in the context for each campaign outcome. The guy who created it commented here and said it turned out this way simply because it was rushed and they were pressed for time.

When you join the North, manage to win the match that would otherwise end the campaign, then turn the tides with the team and almost take all regions from the South. Then see the Southern guys go "fuck it" and attack Saigon with their remaining CP. The feeling that even if we lose we will win the campaign is perfect.

North Vietnam's victory gives off this strong tone of a hard-fought final victory which is awesome considering the campaign can drag on for quite a while. Whereas the South Vietnamese song just kind of sounds like the ending to some crappy action movie.

I think the reason why they don't use historical photos is their attempt to cement that the game is DIFFERENT from Red Orchestra 2: Rising Storm. It is called Rising Storm 2 after all, without the Red Orchestra

The RS2 devs probably just copy and pasted the first result from Google when making that news reel graphic. Google will also sometimes translate đánh bại to "beat", "whop" (which is a word no one uses in English anymore), or "blank" lol.
