Ital Tacky was a filler. Sometimes when you can’t have what you want, you take a substitute. She even went back to Mr. Tacky after Bob died and had a second child for him ten years after the first daughter. It is obvious that Ital Tacky filled an emotional void and that Bob was the true love of her life. She said in interviews that she and Bob connected on all levels - she said their whole vibe was much more than just sexual, to paraphrase their connection was a mix of best friends, siblings, interchanging mentor/student. That’s why no matter who else came in the picture they couldn’t separate from each other they were soulmates.

At the end of the day, the evidence of Bob’s stepping out was plain to see long before Stephanie was born in 1974. In 1972 alone, less than 1 month after Stephen was born, Robbie and then Rohan were born. And then Karen in 1973. I know wives are expected to be a certain way-especially back then. But one should not blame Rita for ultimately breaking her marital vows, especially as Bob wasn’t frequently around.

I am reading the book now and in my opinion, Bob fetishized getting woman pregnant. Rita said the sex was so good when they were making Cedella, they called her "nice-time." Bob will continue to recreate this experience countless times and wind up with 11+ kids. Who knows how many are out there. In America, you would have to pay for every one of those kids even back in those days. My father went through it in the 1950s in New York. We had to struggle so hard and go without because he had two children from a previous marriage.
