I've always thought there should be talk show that just interviews retired actors, singers, just so we can see how they are doing. Rita has more than earned a Barbie. I once did some art work for Mattel's Zog Logs product and had to visit their CIA-level protected headquarters in Torrance. I met a dour British guy and asked what he did at Mattel. He gave me the dullest look and said in Brit monotone, "I design Barbie's panties," with a sharp, almost disdainful emphasis on "panties." No film could have crafted this scene better.

Women tend to age better than men in general and she was also more athletic and healthy in her youth than he was.

Different bodies age differently. Part of it is luck (genetics and environment) and part of it is how you take care of yourself. It really can make a big difference to stay active and passionate in your older years. Some people retire and just sort of stay home sitting around doing nothing, and they tend to decline faster as a result. Rita has stayed engaged, working, and with a zest for life, including her lifelong love of dance. It's not everything, but it matters.
