Be skeptical of men and love yourself in all the ways your heart needs. Rather than relying upon becoming a couple with a man for your existence - be strong and resilient BY YOURSELF first. Men don't always show their true colors before you get married! If you get educated and experienced in a career of your choice first before allowing yourself to succumb to marriage, then you can always be self-supporting if and when a relationship fails. Yes he had a lot of women, but in those days and even today they are all sleeping around, it is part of their culture, so don’t demonize him. I saw when you made the video of Vivian Leigh you blamed her promiscuity on mental problems unlike the men who do this who you are always downgrading. Treat both men and women fairly, not one over the other.

Rita Moreno was a trailblazer. Even after winning an Academy Award, there were no good film roles for her. Glad she persevered and turned to theater and tv. As for Brando, that was such a toxic relationship. He had a long history of mistreating the women in his life, and even his children. One tragedy after the next. Trivia: Dorothy Dandridge was originally cast as Tuptim in "The King and I", but she backed out (supposedly she didn't want to play a slave and Otto Preminger convinced her to turn down the role because it was not a lead). Rita Moreno was then cast. Dorothy also turned down the role that Rita eventually played in "The Lieutenant Wore Skirts". You show a clip from this movie.

Did anyone see The Ritz, about a gay bath house, where Goggi Gomez performed every night? Moreno is hysterical, one of the funniest characters in movies. Did anyone, like me, watch Rockford Files faithfully on TV? Guest star Moreno was so liked by the viewers, they wrote her into the show. It was a humerous show, and she made good on that. These roles were years and years after West Side Story. Oz was years and years after Rockford. She was so good, really superb, in all those venues. She once came into a theatre where I was working. We were the only people in the place. It was between shows. I was so excited to be in the same space as the great Rita Moreno. I wanted to tell her how much I enjoyed her work, she cut me off, refused to even look at me, and without a word walked right past me and out the main entrance. Tell me how elated I must have felt. Or is that humiliated. Denied my personhood. And all because I wanted to tell her how much joy she had brought into my life. End of story.

My grandmother told me about her as a child and it was encouraged to watch west side story amongst others to understand all she aspired and her tenacity! As a Cuban man growing up in the 70s, RM was everything to me. I’m so glad you did a video about her. She was just so funny and poignant at the same time. I’m so happy to have grown up with her because she gave so much and as a Hispanic she was the only who represented my community and when she did a gay movie, she knew who I was. I'm not sure how she made the connection, maybe she was trying to appeal to a Mexican audience? For sure Puerto Rican food has a lot of aspects from Spanish, African, and Taino cuisines. I don't even think Mexicans have a recipe for bacalao.

Do not worry about acceptance by a particular group. Puerto Ricans have the bacalao on lock. I can and do prepare Puerto Rican food. My mother in law taught me well. Yummy! I can not get PR food here in SoCal. I cook my own authentic PR food for myself, my family, and my friends. I like Mexican food as well. I just enjoy PR & Carribean food better. No comparisons.
