These are one off legends that we would all love to see play. I am lucky enough to have won tickets to see Page & Plant. Wasn't Led Zepplin who I was too young to see play live. But it was the next best thing. Ritchie in his own weird way was amazing too.

When one is musically gifted the whole proces of developing technique, musicality etc goes on another level compared to amateur players. In one week guitarists like RB could probably play several chords with easy rhythm playing while average players need 2 months. Besides that they work by ear and listening and they are deeply determined and creative. I think the generation of RB are people who have a very refined and natural feeling especially for the electric guitar. When it comes to RB I hear a timeless minstrel even when playing in Rainbow with such refinement, focus, romantism, lyricism, fire and deeply felt playing with a lot of color. His timing and feel for stillness is unique. A real player from the heart!

I wonder if within a couple hours of handling a guitar, Richie and the other names mentioned here, could play chords and sound like they knew how to play. There had to be some divine intervention from above for Blackmore, Beck, Page, and Clapton to all be that good and all be from the same area. I wonder how much Richie misses the 60’s and 70’s when rock was king and audiences lived for their music.

Ive been practicing for 50 years and im still not as good as my next door neighbor when i was a kid. He picked up a guitar and within weeks could play anything we heard on the radio. Chords, leads and he had a good voice too. Some people are definitely born to play..

All are Gods, when I was 10 i was idolizing Blackmore, Beck , Clapton , Hendrix and Page. I knew then that was what I wanted to do. I managed to get very skilled at the guitar and could play any thing they could. I ended up un a Deep Purple cover band ( we called ourselves Peep Durple 🤣🤣). I could never fully emulate Blackmore but ut did extremely well. Unfortunately I had to quit after getting carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. After surgery I unfortunately lost the hand coordination and gave up.

the real proviso with all of these guys is what they thought of each other at the time i.e. just when they were all innocently getting going - in those days there was more of a thing of sharing and discovery, they all admit it!. it only changes when it becomes about fame/fortune/charts/singles/etc. it goes from 'i know how to play this, watch me' to ' i know something you don't know'

Blackmore is my preferite guitarist all time! Togeter Page and Iommi they invented hard rock. Today metal guitarists have more musical preparation, technique they all read music very well, but they do not have the star soul of these artists of the 70s. Nothing will happen in rock anymore, it ended after these great artists ..... at least I think so .... look at what groups are rising ..... from Maneskin to Greeta ..... copies, clones .... that's all ..... there is little more to invent. .... after Deep Purple, Led Zeppelim, Black Sabbath ......
