River Ayr Salmon fishing on a windy day

Not the best conditions that day. Was very windy with alot of leaves in the river which kept getting caught on the fly and ended up doing my head in. Still nice to be out on the river though

Good carp fishing conditions, but as seen a bit difficult casting a fly,nice video again.

I hear what your saying. To be honest the stick has a hard metal spike on the end. I did put a rubber on but it didnt really work that well. Will have to get another one I guess.

I dont normally catch many salmon here in Norway in very windy conditions, the seatrouts seem to love it but the salmon are like nahh, not today mate....

Not many salmon about that day its true. Just nice to get out even if the conditions werent good. Never know your luck but I would agree very windy isnt very good conditions for salmon fishing

Sorry dont know. I bought the line second hand about 4 years ago. It is an 8 wt floating line. Thats about all I know. the rod is a hardy graphite. That might have something to do with the good cast. Its a nice rod

you can only fish for Grayling on the river now thru the winter till next year. The trout season is by and so is the salmon season. Salmon season starts again in feb and trout in march. Time to tie sum flies and get ready for next year. I sometimes fish for grayling but you cant wade on the gravel beds or redds so I tend to not go out as much and concentrate on rainbow trout fisheries instead

I think the rod is 12 and half feet. Its vintage but I like it
