I so enjoyed. Thank you Rob. I made note with regards closed faced reel. Whether I return to fishing I don't know (we are talking decades).. this though is next best thing. I was totally wrapped up.

i came back to fishing after the lockdown bollox... i was saving it for retirement... but thought why not... i was a mad keen matchman about 1984/5/6 ... but young family ended that.. i still approach it like i am in a match fishing for bites etc, then see what comes along.. not fussed about HUGE hauls of fish etc... and if i lose one at the net, its no drama it saved me unhooking it.. i have got the missus into it now... we fish a double swim with chairs -.bait table and stuff in middle- small cooker for tea etc...i enjoy watching her catch more than me.. we recently tried a commercial..(loads of em here in kent).. and it was too easy it really was... 4-8lb carp every cast.. i still have the match bug in me too... its a great day out

Glad to hear you still have the fishing bug. Even better your wife is interested. Fishing is a lifetime sport. It brings out the adventurous side in all of us. Each venue we fish it could hold the fish of a lifetime. Every bend in a river you find ; it may hold a good shoal of fish. Or a lake may hold a fish you did not realise was in there. Good luck keep on bagging.

If you want to catch edible fish. I suggest you try sea fishing for them. You can catch fish at various locations in all of the places you mention. Bear in mind if you fish near any port. You will have to gain the harbour authority permission. This may involve a fee. Fish caught in rivers and lakes have an earthy taste. In general the fish you see in my videos are not good eating fish. Sea fish are far more palatable. This is not an area I am involved with. There are a number of youtube channels that show fishing in the sea in the areas you mention. I do not eat any of the fish I catch. Hope this helps.

@Robert Oliver Fishing Days out, Thankyou so much for your repl, I would love to go sea fishing but unless I can find out about Good spots/locations it might mean I may need a boot that's the only problem holding me back. When I living I the valleys it was better for river fishing if someone was interested in eating the fish afterwards, there was rainbow trout and brown trout and other fish like carp and a few more I can't remember, were as the River taff is mainly known for mullet. Really glad I found your channel happy fishing 🎣
