Living on the other side of the world and never having fished for catfish, I don't really understand - but it seems like the catfish culture/ hierarchy (flathead, blue, channel) runs deep. Hopefully will experience it first hand one day.

Very fine flattie, very nice! Think ya turned him on living there, being pulled out of the water, seeing odd creatures, that he'll pack up and move some further south with the flow? Not my PB either but I wouldn't cut the line because it was on it. River is going down, catching some in the creek flow-ins but nothing to brag about. Seen a new underwater log pile today, never been one there before, maybe I hit it tomorrow if the rain stays away, be something in it like your trees were.

I got out for a bit today on a smaller freestone river out here, and only got a single rainbow, the sight fishing was good, saw quite a few but they wernt eatin.

Spencer, dump that too small plastic net and get yourself a real, serious net. You're a commercial fisherman, people pay you to go fishing, you don't need half assed gear. Spend the $$ once, and forget about your net needs, forever. Cumings Ultimate Catfish net. I've had mine for more than a quarter century. Literally TONS of fish in this net, still as good condition as when I bought it. Just close your eyes and write the check, you won't regret it!
