I've been watching your videos of catching bait. Here's a trick an old man showed me that works pretty well and doesn't require bait. He took a small piece of leather shoe string and tied it on a long shank perch hook. He then took a couple of three worms and smashed them up with some water and he would soak the leather string in it. He was catching perch one after the other. I was very impressed it worked great. ( at least for him) I really enjoy your videos the bait fishing as well as the cat fishing.

Took a coworker fishing today for Salmon on the Columbia. I caught about a 25lbs wild had to let go at first light. Was able to put my buddy on two really nice 15-18lbs Chinook/King Salmon, made me feel good to be able to put a friend on fish! Feel like thats something I learned from these videos, its success when yo utake friends and put them on a goodin. Tight lines boys!

Well i went fishing two days in a row the first day i caught a 25-30lbs Alligator snapping turtle and the second day i was in a kayak in a log pile and caught a 35-40lbs alligator snapping turtle

Same ! Seems like the whole big fish fishing camping and cooking on the bank is fading in the new generations. I grew up in a time when my grand parents fished hunted foraged for mushrooms and gardener was a way of providing for the the families.. sometimes I feel like the last of a dieing breed.. every time I come across the younger generations I try to share knowledge and adventure in hopes it'll spike their interest...

I keep a small tin with lighter pine and those tinder quik fire tabs along with a fero rod in everything... You never know when you're going to need a fire and with those 3 things I've never been in a situation I couldn't light one. If you're an outdoorsman those 3 things are a must have... Seriously go with the 7/0 Lazer sharp eagle claw circles at Walmart. They are all I use on my poles and I just reel down, no huge hook set needed and get em damn near every time

Love your videos man" off and on through the years I've targeted big flatheads but fish for all species of fish. I've been fishing pretty heavy all my life most ky and Barkley lakes the Tennessee and cumberland River as well as other small lakes. Getting back into big cats pretty serious and stumbled acrossed your videos comparing tackle and have been enjoying your videos we do alot of things similar but I do alot of bank fishing and I fish for other species while I wait.. recently put about 75 skipjack in the freezer i do well on cut bait bait for big blues as well as flats still looking for a good bull head pond so every weekend I'm not working I'll be wetting hooks.. maybe if you're every on ky or Barkley well cross paths maybe get on some monsters... keep up the good work and keep living simple and to the fullest nothing like a good trip around the water...

First time watching your channel and really enjoyed it since you don't take yourself too seriously. One question I do have though, why don't you set the set the hook when you get a bite instead of just backing up and hoping the fish hooks itself? To me it looks like a tug of war, you pulling on the bait and the fish holding onto the bait until the hook rips out, especially on the large fish.

I would like to see a video of you catch clean and cook gar.... if you have not tried it, you'll be surprised. Just eat the back straps and make sure you have rose bush pruners and sharp knife. There are many vids on youtube on how to clean them.
