Kayaking Nantahala Gorge - with Jes and Halie

Ever had a perfect day on the river? I have had my share. This was definitely one of them! I finally get to paddle with Jes and Halie and we ran the Nantahala. James was celebrating his birthday as the gang paddled down the river soaking up this perfect day. Johnny tries out his new Antix 2, I have the Alpha seat placement dialed in, Jamie starts knocking out rock star eddies, Kevin gets back in a Whitewater kayak after some time off, Deana brings the style, Adam looks for every rock with his Mullet, and we were joined by Lloyd who is loving that braap. Oh yeah! I recognized a couple of areas, but where most used to put in there was a 3 foot drop all the way across, just below the dam. Alot less big boulders now. Just above the race area was called Upper Wesser Falls and was the general, and last pullout before the Lower Wesser Falls. That was treacherous, considered class 5 water. And that's a story for a campfire! At a later date.
