Come along as we explore section 4 of the Chattooga River. This is one of the crown jewels of Southeastern Whitewater. Graham Biggs, Davis Biggs and Jerry Yang get their first descent. We also met up with Nathan Anderson, Qu Wang, Chris Statton and Lauren Scott. It was an unbelievable 70 degree day in the end of December. What a way to finish the year!

Missed the premiere last night. This looks like a fun time. I can't believe Lauren hung in there, upside down through that whole rapid. That had to have felt like 30-40 seconds. Pretty sure I would have pulled my skirt within a couple seconds.
@RiverKingsKayak
@RiverKingsKayak 2 жыл бұрын
OH YES! 10 seconds feels like a minute esp if you are worried about what is below where you dumped over...She is a beast though and she doesnt rattle easy. Good thing too as Crack is just below! She recovered really well!

Ok this one time I was fly fishing the chattoga and these guys in canoes came paddling by REAL QUICK I tried to warn them about a 40 foot waterfall they were approaching but they were to focused trying to convince the guy in the front to put his life jacket on; Haven’t heard from them since!

Dang! The GoPro sure does shrink these rapids down. Especially 7-Foot.
@RiverKingsKayak
@RiverKingsKayak 2 жыл бұрын
I know, you can lessen that effect by narrowing the aperture, but then you lose a lot of the peripheral and it makes it harder for the viewer to follow. A third party shot can show it well, but that takes forever to set up...If it looks big on GoPro, it is humongous in real life! LOL

@@RiverKingsKayak I had a friend get in the washing machine. When it finally spit him out he didn’t even try to roll. He just bailed out. I asked him why he didn’t just roll and catch the eddy? With eyes wide he looked up at me and said “I thought it was pulling me back in. I wasn’t going back in” gave me pause for thought.
