Come along and experience a day on the river. If you truly want to know a river, you must get on the river....
Had a blast making this one folks! Other than topic based projects, I usually dont have a predetermined "script" for making a video or how that video turns out. Rather I just start it and see where it takes me. This one did not go as I had planned...
Back in early spring, I had another wonderful opportunity to paddle and film with Ken Whiting of Go Paddle and Paddle TV. If you dont know, he is a class act and true ambassador to the sport of paddling - not just kayaking (of which he is a world champion play boater). He covers virtually all disciplines of the sport and showcases them all. On a recent project in Tennessee, he reached out looking for ideas on locations to film. There were a few obvious choices but none better for what he was looking to do than the Tellico. He and camera Ninja Mat Willder met P5, Austin Wallis and I for a fabulous day showcasing the Tellico Ledges. Austin and Mat spent the day following us down the river grabbing all the footage as Ken, P5 and I pretended to be "working" - code for we hucked ourselves off all the ledges and drops that this kayaker's playground has to offer. Once again, Ken made all of his footage available to me. As a content creator, this makes me feel like a kid in a candy store!!! It was sooo easy to make this video! Enjoy! Thanks Ken and Matt for such a fun day and including us in your project!

It’s a shame that KZbin no longer has a viewer nominated award process because I would be submitting the River Kings channel every day. You bring so much joy and positivity to everything you touch. Your sense of style, timing, and narrative just keeps growing by leaps and bounds. Proud to consider myself a fellow North Carolinian and perhaps someday we’ll meet up on one of those rivers that has no name, but lives on in our hearts.

Thank you -and It is not too late! I know several folks in their late 70's out there shredding. You can also dial the rowdiness back and start on gentler rivers that afford you the time to gather the skills and confidence and find you comfort level...there is a river for EVERYONE!

Beautifully made. The real star, the river, is shown for the first 2.5 minutes, only then do the canoeists come into play.

Great video you have made here. I know, it is just repeating what everyone said before me, but the footage, music, narration... Feels like you have even matched music - beats to the waves/rocks of the river - at least where it was possible. Seems like you are not kidding, and you love what you do.😀

Pete no one tells a story like you do. Almost makes us all feel like we are there. You are the best. Ken is good at what he does. Gotta give him his earned respect. Keep up the good work bro, because the day you have to hang up your paddles for good yakking vids on you tube will never be the same. 💯

Hi, from a snowy Northwest, Iowa. I also feel the pole of the water and instead of Going pheasant hunting today with my buddies. I went out to see the beauty on the water. I wish I was just as elegant as you are in explaining how beautiful it really is. Another great video.
