I did the TAT with my Land Cruiser brothers from NAGS head to East Tennessee where we'll pick it up next we've already the Arkansas leg in 2019. I think its great that your doing this series but its important to those that follow your lead to obviously have a plan for your range and nights around cities that have charging options. Are their apps that show all the charging stations around the country to plan stops. How is the range affected by the terrain MTN, Sand, Rock etc. More detail are needed for those who adventure off the grid or beaten path like my buddies to trust an electric. I 've seen the capabilities no doubting it. My Land Cruisers have a build life of 30 years for the similar price of the Rivian what is the reliability factors and expected life of the batteries and motors to those who adventure out not just commute these are the details we want to hear about. When we made camp in the MTN's of Virginia and Tennessee there were no charging stations do you bring generators as backup?

I think a lot of people are kinda missing the point of this video. Motor trend isn't specifically about car specs, it's about the driving experience. This video isn't supposed to be full of specs and info about the truck, there are already hundreds of videos about that on yt already. This video is about the trip itself and showing that this kind of thing IS possible in an electric vehicle. This is actually a pretty monumental task they are setting out to do.

I live in cali can have road tripped my Bolt 800+ mi.. spent 12 hrs+ charging on a 3 day weekend.. Gonna be a long time before this is really ready for non highway travel.. Long Way Up showed us what its really like to offroad a Rivian in the middle of nowhere.. .. Hotel really guys!!?? At this moment.. EV charging dictates your travel plans, you're always planning around charging stations, range, and time at charger. EV = great commuter / internal combustion = every other sort of travel... and why i still have a Jeep!

So you were on the road for 12-14 hrs which is a normal trip, but how far did you go on a charge, not one mention of it. The video should have been more in the vehicle not yourself being tired . Peace.

I enjoy your channel, but I thought this was about the Rivian , not the presenters, just saying 😉.
