Hello fullycharged , thank you again for this video, always very good. I have a question regarding the pack energy given in the video, Are they used energy or embedded one ? What is the average time to charge from 5 to 80% SOC starting from a 30degC initial temperature for the vehicle and the environment ? What is the autonomy using WLTP protocol and finally what is the expected battery life target for an average user ?

How long until somebody makes an affordable small electric truck for the average buyer? These high end adventure vehicles are priced into the stratosphere.
@HenryLoenwind5 жыл бұрын
Main issue at the moment is the price of the battery. One that gives a useful range still adds ~8-10k of cost to a vehicle. And the new electric car makers won't sacrifice range (e.g. to 100 miles per charge) just to have such a (joke-)truck that wouldn't sell well---they need the volume. One of the old big ones may do so by slapping an electric powertrain into an existing truck that's already being produced. Not as much loss there as most of the cost of the production is payed for by the ICE variants. And making a $20k truck with a $10k battery wouldn't work either. The truck itself would look and feel like a (shitty) $10K truck---because it is. To make a car that feels to be worth its price, a manufacturer needs about 3 times the money the battery costs (i.e. using 3/4 of the price to make a car that feels like it's worth 4/4 of its price). (Side note: Tesla has a big advantage, their Model 3 is about 1/5 battery, 3/5 car, 1/5 extra profit...)

I love that Chelsea is becoming more prominent on this channel. I remember seeing her in the WKTEC documentary 10+ years ago and she was such a great advocate for electrified driving. I know this is her passion and I'm very glad that she's getting to interface with all of these cutting edge manufacturers and helping build this channel.

Yeah... we've seen how painful that can be but they have a factory and lots of money behind them... and the press and others seem to not have them on their radar like others I could mentions so I think they will be able to keep their head down and go for it. Why did Chelsea not ask about availability and not just US but global and also RHD for UK/Australia/NZ/etc?? Do they have any pricing out yet as Bollinger does? Is there even an approx date of availability?

When it comes to these technical interviews, I would rather have someone with engineering knowledge. I really dont want to offend her, but as an engineering student I had so many critical questions about design decisions and she just always answered "yes" or "exactly".

When watching this I was thinking..... Shouldn't we get a manufacturer designing the skateboard i.e the chassis and then other companies creating bespoke bodies (such as the old school coachworks companies) then buyers could choose the form the vehicle & we could go back to having lots of different types of cars on the road
@ForeverDirt35 жыл бұрын
We are doing that for decades already. VW uses its plattforms for all other companies it owns (a VW Golf is built on the same plattforms as some Audis, Skodas, Seats for example). Thats why we see more and more manufacturers combined in large Companys.
