So yeah, definitely would recommend looking up the KProfile before doing these but Oh My Girl did debut as 8. JinE went on hiatus due to treatment for anorexia forwards the end of 2016 (after Listen to My Word (A-ing)) and then officially left the group late 2017. Then they remained as 7 until Jiho left mid-2023. They’ve only had 2 releases as 6. Edit: They’re 8 in all of these except NonStop (which is 7).

Idk if anyones mentioned it yet, but it should be noted that Mimi has written the majority of her own rap's in the group's songs. I think thats why (for example in Closer) they fit really well because she understands the song and concept deeply. Also in general her flow and her way with words is very unique - definitely underrated when we talk about rappers in kpop

"Closer" is one of my favorite girlgroup songs ever and i don't even stan OH MY GIRL 👀 it's just so gorgeous, and i LOVE how they included the rap at the end

Mimi is their rapper. I kind of like that not every song needs a rap verse in it, but they're never out of place. Windy Day is my favorite Oh My Girl song and now you know why. The surprise pickup out of the opening verse, that continues picking up all the way to the "windyyy dayyy" portion of the song, before re-cycling back to the gentle instrumental. It fits the narrative of the song with each pickup in the pacing being representative of wind. It's very deceptive and all the little additional flourishes in the instrumental make the song sound so unique. I've heard it at least a few hundred times by now and I get still the same amazing experience as the first time when I hear it again. Liar Liar is a fun song with a fun narrative. It's another one of my favorites. Closer is classic OMG. Nonstop didn't do much for me starting out, but it definitely grew on me after multiple listens. If you want suggestions for another video: Remember Me is similar to Nonstop, Secret Garden is similar to Closer. Coloring Book and Bungee are very cute and colorful.

Closer is so beautiful, it makes me teary everytime I hear it. Windy Day is such a fun song that everytime I see very windy day, I unconsciously sing this song out loud. The dreamy, like angel/fairy aesthetic is definitely well fit with Oh My Girl, they nail this concept.

One thing to consider....if you never decide to watch Queendom 1 then definitely watch their cover of Lovelyz 'Destiny' from Round 2....it is one of the defining performances of the entire queendom/kingdom series and for OMG as well even tho it's a cover

The rapper is Mimi, she's been killing it in variety shows recently! YooA is the one who's voice you pointed out who sang the opening lines of most of these, she was the one who you were drawn to in the KV! For next time I'd recommend Remember Me, The Fifth Season SSFWL and Dun Dun Dance

the song Windy Day talks about love in the language of wind. At first, it's a soft summer breeze but then it becomes a violent wind that knocks them off their feet! Then they put on the antler and escape the forest and they're shown on a road highlighted by headlights so they're like a deer in the headlights! cause the stormy love wind caught them by surprise

The guy in Liar Liar is their senior in B1A4, Gongchan who happens to be super good looking naturally. They debuted as 8, then from Colouring Book album, they continued as 7 and then from Golden Hourglass onwards, they were 6 members. Rapper is Mimi. They are really a special group. We should seriously look forward to their world tour...it would be a blast!!

I am big fans of oh my girl it was a group that always had a hard time getting attention, they have a beautiful discography, I would like them to be even more famous because they deserve it, if possible, I would like her to react to OH MY GIRL in her passage through queendom they got the second place and literally the other participants thought that OH MY GIRL would be eliminated, but she shut their mouths to them all, her 3 presentations are incredible and the final guerrilla song is a concept of oh my girl but twice as strong

the first three songs are from when they're still 8 members group. sadly circa 2017, one of the members, JinE or Shin Hyejin, left due to health reason. later on, after their seven years contract ended, my favorite members, Jiho, left the group and didn't renew her contract like the rest of them. they are now down to 6 members. from when they're still 8, I like Closer, but Windy Day comes close second. sadly, those two songs didn't win any music show awards. despite being quite iconic even for now. other notable songs from this era would probably Step by Step. A B-side songs, so it doesn't have an MV. as for the rap part, the rapper of the group, Mimi, did almost all of their songs rap verse. she was self trained since their company didn't really have any actual rap lesson. she also one of the main dancer of the group beside YooA. they are probably one of, if not the only girl group with whimsical fantasy concept. which garnered them the nick name: fairies. other notable songs that follows the same formulas as a 7 members group are probably Secret Garden and The Fifth Season (SSFWL). other notable B-Side songs that I personally like were Eternally, Twilight, Krystal, Drip, and My Doll. their latest release, Classified seems to follow My Doll vibe of them being a doll. their two main vocal, Hyojung and Seunghee are probably the most underrated Main vocalist amongst the 3rd gen girl groups. despite one of them, Seunghee, being a guide singer for several solo artists songs like Sunmi for example. and lastly, they can actually pulled any concepts like they're showcasing during their stint at the show Queendom. traditional fantasy for their cover of Destiny, Vampire-esque concept for their Twilight reimagine, and... girl crush for their song Guerrilla. sorry if this is too long.

The only plug I want to offer is that Jiho, the most recently departed member in 2022, is one of the most talented visuals-as in holding the 'visual' role in the group-I've seen in Kpop. Like, she convinced me that visual was a skill and not just being "the pretty one." In live performances she NEVER missed the camera and always made creative choices with expressions and poses. She'd always been good, but 2020-22 (particularly Real Love & Drip era) she was next level.

The rap verse in Closer might not be “fitting” but it’s definitely the most unique position for a rap verse ever. Rarely I’ve heard from a K-pop song where they put the rappers last, besides I think Mimi’s flow in Closer was probably the best she’s done throughout their title tracks (for me). She just raps so smoothly that I was immediately hooked!

JinE was my bias, and she left after A-ing, bringing their number to seven. Binnie (Yubin) is my Proxy Bias. A proxy bias is your new pick, should your actual bias leave the group prematurely, and you feel they are irreplaceable as your bias, so the proxy is a stand in so that you still have a member to get excited about in future comebacks. Windy Day is my favorite song with a music video. The complexity is mind boggling! However, may favorite song overall is a b-side called Drip.

Even if you had a screenshot in front of you from the killing voice with names attached, they look so different in their early MVs, it would be hard to recognize them.
