Yup this album is just something else, RM is a genius! I personally interpreted the domodachi video as a depiction of the chaotic life being an idol and at the end he decides to go back in.

In his "Minimoni" album exchange with Jimin Namjoon confessed he felt he had a lot riding on this album, not just because he deferred his enlistment to do it (when he was out for the evening he often heard people discussing their enlistment not knowing he was there) but that to do it he had "stepped away" from the members and indeed "being RM of BTS". Sonically I was more surprised than perhaps I should have been given that he worked with San Yawn, member of Balming Tiger 😊. Back again: in Groin, "get your ass out the trunk" has been inferred to tell all the false friends/people who've tried to jump on the BTS bandwagon just to Do One. Watching your response to "Lost", am already looking forward to your watching "Come Back To Me"

Favorite album this year and I can’t see anything else I listen to beat what I felt my first time hearing RPWP. I was floating! PS, I seriously love your review. You put effort into analyzing what you’re watching and reading, you understand instrumental nuances, and you’re willing to let RM lead you through something outside of your expectations with different genres. Wish everyone could be this open and fun when reacting to this album. Most usually give up understanding more than what’s told to them or talk about what they wish he’d done. Or they want him to bring up or reference bts/army… Let’s all just appreciate what he’s offering because it’s dope ❤️🔥

Many have said that Groin is very 2000s UK rap. The Adidas outfit and it being filmed on a street in the UK seem to confirm this. Supposedly the part “Get Yo Ass Outta Trunk” is a call-out similar to “Stop riding my coattails” to all the hangers-on and those who want to use RM or BTS for their own benefit.

I do think that in 'Out of Love,' he is addressing the fans or anyone who doesn’t like what he does. Sometimes, they say things in their lyrics that we choose to ignore. So I believe he is insulting whoever criticizes his habits, whether they are army or not.

Loved your reaction Michael! as always u r so attentive.. 💜 This album is like being inside RM's head and it's crowded in there. There's alot of organised chaos going on and sometimes it's noisy: other times it's quiet. All his moods and emotions are represented. He had a lot to say and he wanted people to hear him, I think this is why it's so chastic and all over the place. It's like listen to me, hear me, I have things going on and no one listening/seeing me for actually me". RM moves in those artistic, eclectic circles that he enjoys, The feeling of each song and the videos takes you up and down and tells astory. Escaping hectic suffocating environments but going back for more in Domodachi. Sharing frustrations in Groin. Wandering and self-reflection in CBTM. The more I play this album the more I love and understand it. Like it or loathe it, he laid himself bare. This is all we can ask for from a true artist. 💜💜💜

I absolutely love this album it’s definitely an all time favorite. I hadn’t put it together until you said something about it but with the come back to me music video where he starts off super off with his self and everything seems to be going wrong which we think it to be the situations he’s in but by the end of the video he is still in the same situation just happier now is exactly the title, right place wrong person. To be in the “right” place where you think you should be but you doubt yourself to be the “right” person.

RPWP does challenge the listerner..i find myself being carried away by the beautiful instrumentation one minute and then distracted by the lyrics....and then when an mv is thrown in it just adds another level of storytelling you need to digest......but once you get the hang of it it becomes so natural to have that vibe with those lyrics and that visualisation......you are in Namjoon brain.....and i so love it....

about the domodachi title, i like that there's different meanings people come up with and it still makes sense, like that "thanks friends" can easily be interpreted as sarcastic but also genuine. the word domodachi itself has a " in the first syllable, which makes it look like quotes, so the title is ""friends"". so it's like he's addressing how he is aware of how people wanna leech and pretend to be his friends, but that he is still capable of making real friends that actually appreciate him for who he is

Just want to put this out for the term "domodachi" (pls note, this is just abt how the wordplay can work, tho I think RM confirmed how it can mean "thank you, friend"-but, cmiiw). Dōmo is a pretty versatile word that's used in a lot of ways. Dōmo is a casual way to say sorry or hey or thanks (depends on context). And dachi is also a casual way to say friends. So, the title could also be a casual "sorry, friends" or "hey, friends" or "thanks, friends". And bc it's all casual, it can be considered rude/unfriendly too, depending on the person/situation (esp if they aren't actually friends). Easiest way to translate dōmo would be "very much" or "somehow" and it's considered informal language. So, using it can come off as unfriendly/rude in some situations by itself. But ppl use it as a shorthand mostly to say thank you or hi in a casual setting. But using a full phrase with dōmo conveys deeper sincerity. And it can also be used to express doubt/uncertainty abt smt too.

About the last song, RM, kind of says: "you don't have to be what you see" I understand it as if you're not satisfied with the way your living in the moment, you don't have to continue being that way, the actitud of how you view things can change the perspective, like in the m/v the same scenarios repeat themselves but with a different approach at first he wasn't happy but he changed as looking it more positively so then he's happy. I don't think i explained it well, just my view of it and it reflects something i wanna change myself as well.

The way I see "Come back to me" is: In the first part, he is addressing the multiple expectations ( getting married, parental expectations etc... ) that parents, society and "friends" put on you but ultimately, once you face yourself and find yourself (anima?) you can be comfortable enough to navigate the world and even open doors that were closed before in oder to face the next step in life.( the delulu part of me wants to believe that at least a little part of the girl in a purple dress is ARMY and he recognised himself in us and that we help(ed) him move on and face that world that expects so much of him😄)

hi! I am not sure you will see this comment, but im a huge fan whenever an album I like comes out I always check for your reactions. I have a suggestion that I would be so so interested and happy if you reacted to. it’s called aurora by daisy jones and the six. now daisy jones and the six are not a real band, they are a band in a show called daisy jones and the six that was heavily influenced by the romantic drama within Fleetwood Mac. the main character daisy is said to be inspired by stevie and is actually played by a brilliant actress called Riley who is Elvis presley’s granddaughter. Every song she sings in is elevated by her mere voice and I would even advise you watch them perform because I fully believe there is no performer like Riley. I hope you do react to the album, I am personally obsessed with the album and I can even write you a document explaining the lore behind some of the songs.
