@@06capoeirista I just remember as a young kid walking out of the typical staid Church of Christ Sunday service and hearing the ruckus coming from the Pentecostal church across the street. But that’s another story) Anyway, I went on a tour of the local churches with different fellow students. The Assembly of God services were certainly eye opening. I went to everything from a Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Assembly of God, and took some guys to my Church of Christ. Mostly went to the closest Church of Christ but did go to the Catholic Church some since they had a 8:30am service and we could be done early and have the rest of Sunday to goof off. This seems more like it should be on Charlie’s channel about the Midwest, because it has nothing to do with southerners. Because in the south, if we catch you using the center turn lane to pass, we know we can cause a wreck and blame it on the person who was breaking the law, so we all cut them off and slam the brakes. In the south, we are known for handling the people who won’t follow the rules ourselves, without waiting for the cops.

I grew up in Maine....moved to NC in my 30s...people down here are truly scary. 4 lane road in town...they think the left lane is for passing. Tailgating...they think they are on a nascar circuit. 4 way stop...they absolutely don't know who has the right of way. The Tailgating is the worst, because it's honestly the most dangerous...it makes any emergency stop you need to make a real risk of being rear ended. It matters not how old, nor how large their vehicle is...they seem to believe that their brakes and reflexes are race-car level. I've seen as many as 6 vehicles in a row, all less than 20' apart on a narrow 2 lane road with bends and entering traffic while going 50mph. And they don't like being behind a car with a 40' gap ahead of it, even if both are traveling the same speed, they will pass, regardless of the center road markings and then tailgate the vehicle in front of you...only to end up at a stop sign or light with you right behind them.

As a newcomer to the South 52 years ago my Southern husband and I were driving through Georgia in the rain on a busy highway. My husband asked me to roll my window down and tell the driver beside us his gas cap was off and rain was getting in. I pointed and pointed trying to indicate the problem. A big ol' Georgia cop pulled us over and asked me if I was "shootin' that guy a bird". I had no idea what he was talking about and in my non American accent asked him why he thought I would shoot a bird. He looked at me puzzled and then red faced told my husband to tell me what it meant. After my husband tried to explain it to me the blushing cop just said, " Don't ever do it again." and walked away.....soaking wet from the rain.

I moved to FL in 89 and went to change my license over. The woman wanted to know if I wanted their version of a truck driver's license. I asked what the difference was on the test. She said the written could have up to 5 truck questions, then told me I could get 5 out of 20 questions wrong and still pass, and I could still take the driving part in my car. So...I could get all 5 truck questions wrong and still get a truck driver's license??? Sign me up. Fortunately, they fixed that in 1992 and Mickey Mouse got me my training and a real CDL. Oh, and with the sugar sand in FL on the shoulder, Soft Shoulder means you're getting stuck up to your axles. Best not to pull off the road there. LOL

@dennismoore11166 ай бұрын
Where I grew up was a 5 way intersection. Two stop signs, two yield signs and one no sign. Now if you weren't from that neighborhood, how would you possibly know how to navigate that? For that matter how are you supposed to navigate it? Yield means go ahead because those other guys have to stop, but not if they are on the road with no sign?

I feel like Utah might actually be worse than this satire. Not only do most drivers ignore traffic signs, they also run red lights. Like 2-3 cars go after light changes. 🤦♀️ It’s bad. I’ve seen two kids on bikes hit by minivans (moms) who did not stop at red light. Minor injuries but dang, that’s so scary.

Don't forget the Utah turn signal. The one where the driver is on the freeway in the far left lane and cuts across all the other lanes to go off an exit. They don't use their blinker, you just see them looking over their right shoulder in a crazy way.

You missed the Mississippi take on " yield " , which is a dead stop , ESPECIALLY on the interstate on ramp , as well as the Arkansas variation , which is " I yield 3 times , didn't ya hear me ? " . In Nashville , it's just hit the gas and point it where you want the wreck to happen .

It blows my mind how many ppl in the South use the center lane as their own personal lane to by pass traffic. A couple wks ago when i was going to work a person did it for over a mile bc they didnt want to sit in school traffic before reaching the intersection. Best part there was a State trooper in line and blue lighted them at the intersection. Sweet justice.
