IMO the easiest brake upgrade for a 9-5 is to put on some 9-3 Aero brakes. You can find them in a junk-yard for $30 a piece and they bolt right up with no modifications. Get's you to 315mm rotors and you can still run 16 inch snow tires in the winter.

Nice! Next time try Chevy Cobalt SS 4 piston Brembo brakes. Very little modification needed and low cost.

Nice upgrade, keep up the good work! I have not seen this combination before but it is looking very good. I have also been looking for an upgrade but decided to go for the 9-5 NG Brembos and 355 mm rotors on my old 9-5. About same modification of the spindle but on top the bellhousing of the rotor must be modifed. But you are more brave that start directly on the car, I bought a used spindle that I modified.

Hello, I also have a 9-5OG Aero and am looking for some more stopping power. I'm very interested in your modification. Some questions from my side: - What kind of calipers are the Brembo's, are the 1, 2 of 4 piston? - What do you mean with "modification of the spindle but on top the bellhousing of the rotor"? - The upgrades you mention are on the front axis only I reckon? Any info would be much appreciated!

@@beunhaas102 The Brembos I have used are the : - 4 piston calipers out of Saab 9-5ng / Opel Insignia OPC but I think that also Camaro and Cadillac CTS have the same interface and can be used. The hole distance are slightly different and some machining is needed to make one hole "oval", that is the most common modification, Think you will find a few threads on 9-5og and 9-3ng that have done this modification for these calipers and rotors. -The rotors from 9-5ng have a different hole pattern 5x120 compared to the 9-5og 5x110 so a new pattern must be drilled and center hole also enlarged. -Front axis only. The car is a 2007 9-5 so the aluminium spindle.

Riktigt snygg 9-5:a Jonas :) har själv en svart Saab 9-5 aero 2004 espresso svart som jag haft sen 2013, skaffade nyligen också en Saab 9-3 Aero V6 2008 som bara gått 11300 mil hitills.

They will probably be bolt-on to 9-5 2002-2010, but they cost more than the car so i dont think its worth it 👍

Big brakes.... nice! Hope they work for you. I think I prefer the look of the car without the black wheels. Looks nice with the yellow calliper & carrier (although I do not know why you would not paint them before fitting???? 😉). I run an AP 6 pot upgrade on my 9-5, and it is without doubt the most expensive part when I have to replace the rotors and pads, so I understand why you would look for alternative. Yellow stuff pads not too bad, as you say can do street and track. How do you intend to break them in? SOULFIRER 👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Bleeding and installing The calipers always tend to fuck up the nice paint 🤣 and why would you want colour were you cant see it? 😉 Go out and drive it, Hard breaking from ~150, then cool for some minutes then repeat. Or one foot on The brake and one on The throttle until it smells done 🥳

Is it compatible with original 9-5 17" ET49 wheels without spacers? For example ALU28?

It works with 17" winter wheels on my ng9-5, dont know if it fits all 17" rims

@@JonasKakarikas yeah, 17" diameter is not problem with this brakes i think, but offset of original 9-5OG wheels can be. If you have time, could you try your winter wheels on this brakes?
