Another great Vlog, you were chatting about saving the trailers or prime mover during a trailer fire, take a moment to remember the poor driver recently at North shore rail crossing, towing a low loader, got stuck on the rails , and was trying to disconnect the trailer from the prime mover, and was struck and killed by the oncoming train, all to save the truck , and he paid with his life , such a tragic accident, truck driving can be very dangerous at times, anyways love your vid’s, keep smiling, & cheers from Geelong, ❤️🦘🦘🦘🇦🇺
@RoadTrainAdventures8 ай бұрын
Thanks Steven. Yes I don't know how he got struck trying to disconnect. You would think as the train got closer, he would have abandoned the idea of disconnecting.

You are correct about the reference to the Aircraft Navigation Aid. An airstrip was constructed adjacent to the roadhouse so that DCA (Civil Aviation) technicians could fly out from Perth regularly to conduct maintenance. I understand the roadhouse management would refuel the diesel generators when required. Now that all jet aircraft have GPS the ground based Nav-Aids are not as essential. Cheers

Do you call out on the radio when leaving truckstops? Ie “road train westbound out of madura” or “roadtrain eastbound out of caiguna” i used to do that so blokes get a heads up
@RoadTrainAdventures8 ай бұрын
Only some Truckstop like Caiguna add you can't see around the corner and definitely leaving Madura earthbound.

Hi John no how much fuel do you carry i used to travel from England to Spain and had 1000 litre belly tank on my trailer In France you had to have haz plates up but in the end they stoped us using them I know you have long distances to travel so you need plenty of fuel good filming stay safe regards bob
@RoadTrainAdventures8 ай бұрын
Thanks Bob. My truck holds 2400 litres so I can travel 3000km before needing fuel.

Johno, just a question out of my curiosity I have for you. Why do you guys use ropes instead of bungees on tarps? seems like bungees would be easier, but there must be a reason for it I was just curious.
@RoadTrainAdventures8 ай бұрын
Because the tarps must be really tight or they'll flap in the wind.
@raymondbradley67888 ай бұрын
@@RoadTrainAdventures Johnno, after I messaged you I figured that was the reason. A bungees a bungee and egg only gets so tight. You can crack a rope down really hard. Love your videos, brother you be safe out there. God bless.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
